I think I recall reading somewhere that the Bluebird SR20DET head does not take standard SR20DE exhaust valve guide seals. I believe it said that the DET's exhaust valve guide seals were the same as those found in a KA24DE. Is this true? Can someone please confirm or deny this? I am replacing all the seals in my DET head but do not want to buy the wrong ones. Thanks.

Yea, My machine shop says BB SR20DET just used USDM SR20DE Guide seals

..... Edit ... Arggg, they lied , the S13 shows a different seal between the intake and exhaust, ( I have a breakdown of the OE P#'s ) , shows the Intake as the exact same # as USDM , My machine shop said they used USDM in the our BB engine also .... Hmm, I hope they are wrong, since that would mean I have the wrong ones in the BB DET ..... Arggg again ....

Any SR20DE(T) engine with sodium filled exhaust will need the larger KA24DE valve stem seals for the exhaust. When you take your head apart, you will see the stems are a larger diameter and have a shoulder. My JDM 10:1 has the KA24DE exhaust stem seals. when you take the head apart, you'll know what im talking about... i should have taken pictures.

Just reviving this thread to confirm that: YES the BB DET does in fact take the KA24DE exhaust valve guide seals. The SR20DE seals fit but are too snug on the thicker valve stem. Found this out for sure today.
