: LINK engine management?

Can the LINK system be used on the SR20DE? I want to get some sort of engine management, and I don't want to go with JWT. I like Turbomiata's(danny's) setup and it looks awesome to tune. I saw one for the 200sx in Austrailia, but I think that it comes with the SR20DET engine over there. What would it take to make this work on my engine? If it won't work, what other systems offer tuning with a keypad on the fly? Also, what are some prices on these systems? Thanks for the help!

Ughh. The Link system on the Miata I saw it with is a POS. Hard to program, very sketchy engine management. Nasty. I wouldn't use it personally.

Just use JWT and enjoy nice reliable horsepower without drivability problems.

Rob how long ago did you see the link on the Miata. It is a lot better than it used to be. It has changed a lot in the last year alone. I will admit it is not the best, but very user friendly. If I had to do it over again I would get the TEC II kit from Shiv (one of SCC writers). I am happy with it for now. I might sell it for a TEC in the future, but that is if I blow a motor on it, or I cant get the power I should...

Thanks

Danny

It was maybe 8 months ago that I saw one.... I didn't like it.

Super spikey jagged dyno curve, and it was hard to use with the little hand-held thingy with cryptic names for adjustments.

Rob is right about it not being a great engine managment. Only reason I got it for the miata was that it was a plug in and I was only going for 200whp safely (that was a year ago). Now that I am searching for more power I am looking at something else.

Hey Rob what do you think the spikey dyno chart is from?

Link does have a set up for the RWD DET (ECU has different plug from a FWD)

If you have a laptop then you're in good shape but at the same time a TEC II, can do more for tuning.... I will admit I am intrested in seeing what AEM is putting out, it seems to be a mix of the ease of the Link (once you get used to it) but a bit more serious like a TEC.......maybe.

I still have to give credit to the JWT ECU, it is a solid piece of work... (of course unlucky has a b15...so anything is a bit $$)

Rob said it best, " the little hand-held thingy with cryptic names for adjustments." good one, lol

I was looking at the Haltech ECU's earlier, and I found that they are pretty reasonable in price and have some decent features. I know a few people that run these on Mazda's and have had good results. I emailed that people at haltech about a setup for my car. Hopefully I'll get some feedback from them.. We need to all meet up next weekend or something..
Peace

did u Email Haltech USA? or Haltech AUS? I'm on a Haltech list and most of them say that the US one is a pain in the ass to deal with for tech support.

they have an office in dallas, and I know some people who can get a car set up by them around town for a reasonable price............. the haltec is a good piece because you can adjust it for maf or map fuel systems
