my 93 ser overheats when its sits running for about 10 minutes its fine while driving.any ideas

when was the last time you replaced your t-stat? maybe it sticks while its not under load, (when driving) just an idea, could be a few things, this is just one that comes to mind. good luck, Rich

should i be able to sqeeze the rad. hose or should it be pretty solid

the lower hose is usually more solid *** there's usually wire that runs through it to make it more ridgid, but the upper hose shouldnt be rock hard, you should be able to squeeze it. if the hoses look bloated or dryrotted you might want to replace them and flush out your cooling system, but i would start by doing regular maintenance first, replace your t-stat, if your hoses look like they need to be replaced you can do that too.

You should make sure that your e-fans are coming on...if your electric fans aren't coming on at idle then there's no air to cool your radiator...when we replaced the radiator in my NX2000, we forgot to plug the radiator fans back in. At idle the car would overheat.
