I am trying to troubleshoot a misfunctioning ( ) passenger door handle on my '91 SE-R. The problem seemed to start with a sticky lock that wouldn't fully open from the outside with the key. It has now evolved to a locked door unable to open from the inside or out. It appears like the lock cylinder is still somewhat functional, but doesn't quite "flip the lever" far enough. I have tried lubricating the lock and I can't do much without the door open to get the panel off......any thoughts?

Any help is appreciated

Jeff

You're going to have to pop off the door panel and take a look.
The rod is fairly beefy but the inner lever does go through a 'crank arm' to turn 90 degrees. Maybe one of the bushings is bad or a rod has bent on you.

FWIW, I'm installing power door locks in my 91 (already put the motor in the driver's door). I was surprised to see that Nissan protects the lock rod from slim jims. This must be a hard car to slim jim open.
