hey guys having an electrical problem that kinda sucks i was driving and the lead that bolts down to the alternator came free when the studbroke off the alternator.the lead then touched the body of the alternator and knocked everything out except for just my headlights i have no other electrical items functioning.the car does start and run any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

start checking fuses, most likely a main fuse or something, look for some big ones - fusible links - I'm not an expert, but no one is jumping on this.

that sucks man - condolences - but the fact that everything runs means it's probably fine and just needs like a main fuse or something.

thanx a lot all the fusible links are ok AFAIK im ot sure how they should look not sure where any main fuse is located

If *only* your headlights are on and your car does run, then your main fusible link is blown. It is the one clip that comes right off of the positive battery terminal, probably covered in a blue-green sheath.

ok thanx guys ill try the fusible like i looked in my FSM and saw how its ran so ill see what happens
