Hello,
I have stumbled upon a 91 Sentra SE-R with high miles (180K) for $350. It runs and drives but has a bad wheel bearing in the front. I took it for a spin and it drove well enough for such high miles; it could probably use a tune up since it idled roughly and seemed a bit down on power for a SR20 (I have driven an NX2000 before.). Its got a bit of rust on the rear quarter panel. The engine also sounded a bit noisy on the top end but again, not too bad. The brake light went on and off a couple of times and the handbrake didn't work.
I have had several Datsun/Nissans and have always had good luck with them. I also like to work on cars for the fun of it and have always wanted an SE-R for some reason. Does this car sound like it would be worth the trouble of fixing up? My plan would be to use it for a winter beater and then strip it down, put a cage in it, and rally it. Good idea? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, jro
