I hope you can see the pics, this is my first time posting pictures.

One thing I just saw. The MAF wires are resting on the battery. You should turn the MAF 180 deg so the wires have room. That intake is nice. I would like to see some dyno tests between the AEM, PR, and HS intakes.

What are the cables attaching your plug wires to the VC bolts?

Whoa wait a sec? Does this thing come with a grommet to protect the pipe near the battery? Explain how that works if so.

Thanks

LOL im sorry you paid for those wires....

but the cai looks good, the couplers look kinda cheap but could just be the pics or that they are shiny. Like that it puts the AIV back into the intake like its susposed to be. Cant wait to see some numbers back to back on that CAI. Lord help us AEM doing stuff for classics....next thing you know APC euro tails...

did you have to increase the size of that hole by the battery? you probably did, i'm just checking.

Yes, you do have to enlarge the hole. I might get to dyno my car this weekend at rosen autosports, so we ill c how well it does.

I got it from cox imports. It was supposed to be 125, but the guy was pretty nice and gave it to me for 120.

Whoo, 220, sorry about that. I really need to learn how to type.

What's this about the CAI not working on the NX? Isn't the whole setup practically identical to the classic? I was thinking for better airflow to the filter, it would be possible to take the foglights out and cut a hole in the plastic fender liner and run some sort of tube to the vent formerly ocupied by the foglight. This appears harder than I originally thought because there is a crossmember-type thing between the fender and the foglight, but it may be possible to work around this (it will take a closer look ot know for sure).
Anybody have any experience with an NX and a CAI? does not seem like many people have put these two, maybe I'll be the first....:D

Thats what I would think. The crossmember thing is definately in the way. I have an aftermarket spoiler and the foglight bracketry is gone. I have airflow to the filter area. So I am retrying it.

I dont know about the nx, but I think it gets good airflow on a classic. If you look through the hole on the right side of the air damn you can see the filter.

Hmm...

I talked to aknapp from this forum, he has an egg with a cold air intake on it by place racing, he says he has no problems, and he noticed a difference when he switched from the WAI setup to the CAI setup.

aknapp, are you out there man?

I noticed a difference at first too. A loss of high rpm power. Could not chirp 3rd gear with the full CAi. But could with the 1/2 CAi and a POP. My buddy was wittnessed to it. It also felt like it lost pull upstairs above 110. (in my younger, sillier, single days). But since I swapped to 10:1 and changed bumper covers I am going to give it another try and repor back, It does have awesome midrange power though.
