: Check out the new sig
martin_g34 01-08-2002, 10:18 PM I've been trying to get this thing to work for so lonf that I just had to show it off!! Smoothdaddyfig is the man! Plus like the last thread said, I haven't seen a post here in a while.
What mods do you guys have planned for your SE's in the near future?
Right now I'm about to do the NX brake upgrade and rear motivational coil-over. Do any of you guys know anything about the AEM CAI, as far as where to get one at a good price?

hey me too!! i'm just waitin' for my shims to come in. are you goin' to the goodridge ss brake lines? i figure since i'm down there, might as well change those up!

AFAIK, the AEM is only for the 91-94 and the 00-01. but if you know sumthin' i don't...lemme know. i guess you could use the one made for the B13 lo port, but i'm not sure if it'll have all the proper hose connections. i've seen it @ this place: AEM CAI (http://www.creverything.com/cr-aem-intakes.html).
martin_g34 01-08-2002, 11:38 PM I'm gonna go with the SMC brake lines, and the SMC slotted rotors. Did you get your calipers at the dealer? I got them at my buddies auto parts store for $40 a piece! I'm also gonna try to get them powder coated if its not too expensive. The only thing I still have to decide on is the brake pads. I bought the VGX pads, but evryone seems to have had bad experiences with those. So right now I'm leaning towards the Axxis Ultimates. What kind of pads are you gonna use?
OOWEE! That intake is expensive!!! I have a wholesale account set-up with a performance shop here in SoCal, I'm gonna try to see how low i can get them to go if the intake fits our rides. I wonder how many people would be down for a group deal?

martin_g34 01-09-2002, 12:03 AM WOHOO!!!!! I finally got my 100th post. I didn't even notice.:D
1999SEL 01-09-2002, 01:33 AM I read someone putting OEM GTi-R front brake in their B14 Sunny in Hong Kong. Is anyone doing that swap in US? It comes with big red Nissan calipers and it looks really nice.
martin_g34 01-09-2002, 01:45 AM Where did you see this? I don't see why it wouldn't work, since a Sunny is just a 200sx. I would really like to see pics of that if you got 'em.
1999SEL 01-09-2002, 01:50 AM I will try to scan it for you. It's in a Chinese auto magazine.
1999SEL 01-09-2002, 02:13 AM here you go...

nope. it's a real loooooong story on where and how i got my NX calipers and rotors. i'm still kinda bitter about the whole experience.

i was gonna go w/ stock pads. i hear they work decent. i *might* spend the $$ on Axxis metal masters. but i think for daily driving and the occasional ass-whooping, OEMs will do fine.
jacen99SE 01-09-2002, 09:34 AM What mods do you guys have planned for your SE's in the near future?
1. Motivational full coil-over with 350/300 springs and new rear mounting plates
2. SMC BABK
3. Custom T28 turbo kit
Somewhere some rims and race tires also.
martin_g34 01-09-2002, 03:43 PM Anyone have any specs on those brakes? As far as how much bigger they are than the NX brakes, or pricing? That bites that I just got all of my NX stuff.
Stilleto: My car is my everyday driver and is only going to see the track once in a while. Do you think the axxis ultimates are overkill? Maybe I should also just go with the OEM's.
Jacen: How much is the BABK? I think I'm just gonna go with the aluminum set-up for the rear. I dont want to have those re-drilled Maxima rotors. You're gonna love the Moti's.
Xosis 01-09-2002, 03:47 PM Nice sig. I have the AEM CAI. I paid 215 shipped for it. It looks nice, feels good. I'm about to order GC/KYB's...don't know if I should get 300/225 or 300/250...Anyone help me decide?
martin_g34 01-09-2002, 04:11 PM If you want ultimate comfort go with 300/200. If you can come up with the cash go with the Moti's. Call up or e-mail Mike from Motivational and ask him for some advice on the spring rates. That guy is a suspension genius, I'm sure that he will be able to help you decide what is best for your needs. Don't ask GC, those guys are only gonna sell you what they want, at least thats the experience I had and it was a bad one. I actually bought the set-up but was so upset that I send it all back and went with the coil-overs.
One more thing. Where did you get your AEM, I WANT ONE!!!

nah, i don't think it's overkill. just bed them properly!!
martin_g34 01-09-2002, 06:28 PM Bed them?
99SENTRASER 01-09-2002, 07:22 PM so what have you done to your car??? how did those headlights fit the 99???

gotta love se-r.net! direct quotes from their "brake performance" section:
In my opinion, most casual high performance drivers can get along fine on a set of properly bedded stock genuine Nissan pads. Even autocrossers and racers can get away with stock pads under certain conditions.
The way to eliminate green fade is to properly bed or break in your pads before you have to use them hard. The trick is to get rid of the volatile elements of the binder resin without overheating or glazing the pad. If you have ever seen your brakes smoke? That smelly stuff is the volatile resins being cooked out of your pads. Bedded pads will not smoke very easily.
the whole section is chock full of info.
martin_g34 01-09-2002, 09:55 PM Thanks Stilleto,
The projectors fit perfect, you just have to take your time. So far I haven't done much to the car. Just the front Motivational coil-overs, Stillen POP, magnecor wires, and the other stuff is just cosmetic. The projectors, clear corners, changed the bulbs in the instrument cluster, polished valve cover, and mu stereo system. But now I'm just gonna concentrate on performance upgrades.
Xosis 01-09-2002, 09:56 PM Damn, 99SENTRASER you ran 15.6 stock? I need to learn how to drive, heh. I landed 15.6 with my mods...at 87...which is kinda low:( Have you run with your current mods?
