I know the Ususal Answer is to Get Jim Wolf computer. A little hard since I have a Miata. I was wondering what yall think about TEC II for 4cyl applications. Any others I should look at. There is a "bolt on" TEC II kit for the miata. I am really leaning towards that. I was wondering how well it works for the SR20. I am selling my current computer becuase I can see myself changing to another car (good chance of a 240, or 510 with DET) within a year or so. I want to take the computer with me. I was looking at the new AEM computer, but there is a two month wait for the AEM Race computer, but it is more expensive than the TEC. Have any of yall not gone the Jim Wolf route.

Thanks

Danny

From what I've heard around a few circles, the TEC II is one of the best affordable systems. A lot of the DSM guys use it. I talked to one of my friends who did Formula SAE in college and they said the TEC II would be fine for a street car. The problem they ran into using the TEC II for the Formula cars was not enough resolution.

For example, it only had like 40 data points or something for the fuel map which is fine for a street car which only revs to 7k. On a formula car where the redline is like 11-12k, you start stretching the data points too far apart to get the car to run well.

Of course, the ultimate system would be a Motec :) If you happen to have like 6 grand laying around. Shiv P. in sport compact car is apparently THE pro at SCC when it comes to tuning the TEC II and I believe one of their Miata project cars uses a TEC II.
