Living in Australia it is hard as to get SR20ve's for less then $4000 (AUS) and thats if you can even find someone that has them. So i was wondering if it would be posible to simply get the parts from a ve that would be needed and bolt them inplace of the de ones? ie Buy the VE block and VC with cams ect, then swap it with the de block and VC.

What parts would be needed?

Any pic?

Any idea of costs to buy the parts and ship to Australia?

Anyone want to come for a holiday and give me a hand putting it all in? I'll buy the beer!

Buy the way. I currently drive a det so I guess this would make for a vet!!! :biggthump

From what I've been reading over the last few days it can. The only mods i should need to do is get the extra oil chanel drilled into the block i have now, wire the vvl acutators and find some aftermarket managment. then BANG VET!

Plus one advantige of using my current block is the all the ports both intake and exhuast are already matched.

I think hes talking about the fact that DE headers do not match up perfectly with VE exhaust ports. Its a little off.

Got it in one!
It means if i do the swap I won't need to find a new Turbo manifold or get one made. All i'll do is drill the block and replace the head.

err dude, i dont think many people are going to bother shipping a VE to australia. Nice thinking though lol. By the time it gets here it will be freakn expensive anyway.

You will need the ve head, which id say means you probably want a ve intake manifold. Might aswell buy a whole engine, I doubt you are going to find too many people willing to sell you the best half of the ve.

I dont really see the benefits of running a ve head on a det block after all that work and stuffing around. You would get a better BFYB from installing some tomei cams or a bigger turbo.

though, dreams are free

the New Zealanders have some as they got the VZR model pulsar. Here in OZ the best that Nissan offered us was the SR20de.
