My friend has a 54 trim and I was looking at the compressor map. Why is it so different than the 50 and 57 trim compressors. Is this a Bad turbo for the SR20, or even my motor. (I ordered the 46 BTW) It has a .50 compressor housing, Stage III wheel, and .63 housing. Is a 54 the bastard child or something??
Also on the other post I heard of a stage V wheel. I am guessing that is only for Big boy apps?
You say at 24lb I should make 400whp (estimated I know), do you think 310-330 is possable at 15lb?
Thanks again.

Also you said 50 trim is good for 450, and 46 for 414, what about this oddball?

You mean from Turbonetic's web site, right? The 54 trim looks like it's a BCI-4 wheel, while the 50 and 57 trim maps appear to be BCI-8 wheels.
Basically, there are mutiple compressor wheel designs that are 'T-04E' size. You can get either wheel design in a 54 trim (and a 46 trim, a 50 trim, a 57 trim, and a 60 trim). Which one are you getting when you order a '50 trim T-04E' from turbonetics? Who knows. They don't even know.

I'm pretty sure that's a 76 trim 'T-350' turbine wheel (72 mm inducer diameter). Way too big for a 1.8L

All other things being equal (volumetric efficiency and intake manifold temperture), power should scale by the intake manifold absolute pressure. So, if you would make 400 whp at 24 psi gauge pressure (38.7 psi absolute), at 15 psi gauge boost pressure (29.7 psi absolute), you would be making about:
400*(29.7/38.7) = 307 hp.

So as long as I stick with the Part Numbers you gave me I will be fine?
How would the 54 work on a SE-R?
Thanks.
I had no plan of a stave V, just had never heard of it before.

Are the compressor maps at Turbonetics? I would love to take a look at them.
