Hi all, first time poster on this board. Early Sat morning my NX2000 was stolen from my driveway in Seattle, WA. Since I tend to wave at and notice any other NXs on the road, I thought I'd post here in the hopes that one of you guys may spot my car.

It's a white 1992 NX2000. WA plates 564-EFF. It has a little damage: a small dent on the front driver side panel (where the little light is) and two black marks on the bumper (right under the NX 2000 logo).

If you see this car, please call the cops and email me at mfehlauer@yahoo.com. I loved my NX and it's killing me that it's might be gone forever.

Thanks for any help, fellas.
Mike
[UPDATE: I recovered the car. See below.]

Oh man, that is bad news. I always thought that since the NX is so rare, it's not a good candidate for car thieves. Looks like I might be wrong. :(

I drove around for about 10 hours total this weekend, checking out my neigborhood, a few park-and-rides and parking lots, and then some of the shadier areas. I spotted 3 NXs (2 white and 1 black) but they were 1600s.

I put the word out to all my friends and coworkers, and I'll continue my own vigilante patrols. God, I hope I find it. If I do, I'm going to lavish some love on that car: fix the dent, new paint, professional cleaning--and not a few anti-theft devices.

Thanks for the sympathy and note about the other car. I'm still hoping that I'll get my NX back. Until that day comes, I'll take advantage of Seattle's public transportation.

But man, do I hope I find my NX. I'd love to steal it back.

Happy day, I found my NX. It's at the shop right now. Interior is trashed, but the body, tires, and windows are intact. Small door ding and scratches on passenger side door. Key assembly wrecked, fuses ripped out, no battery and a broken battery housing. It's been bottomed out and there's a new oil pan leak. The mechanic said there was also something wrong with the rear window.

Oh, and they took (or chucked) the headrest from the passenger seat. Go figure.

All things considered, I'm pretty happy. I'll get the time/cost estimate for repairs today.

Where is the clubsi NW forum? Can you post a link?

The cop told me that the reason that so many cars are stolen in Seattle is because the theives are not charged or prosecuted until after they're caught 7 times. They just pull over the car, note it's stolen, write down the thief's name, and then let the scumbag walk away.

It's sad, and the cops hate it. But the auto theft law in this state suck.

Here's a f'ed up story about a friend of mine and a hooked up civic hatch.
He parked it at Nassau comm. coll. and went to class. Came back to find a stocker. They pulled up in another civic, took his exhaust, seats, intake, momo steering wheel, 17" enkei's, nos equipment. They even tried to rip out the acura engine, but gave up and trashed the engine bay. He found a stock steering wheel, and cheapo steel rims on the car. They swapped some of the stuff right onto another hatch.
Woof! Hope you feel better to hear an even worse scenario. Your story at least has an acceptable ending even if its not totally ideal. Better luck in the future

Once someone stole my freshly waxed and tuned mountain bike from the side of my house, and left a trade in mountain bike, with play everywhere and a ghetto fabulous black spray paint on everything including the rims. That was only a bike and i felt bad for a few weeks, so i can imagine how you feel... 10x worse then i did.

Got the repair cost. It's gonna be about $1,000. Much of that is due to the fact that bottoming out crushed the oil pan.

Here's the killer: a new headrest costs, from Nissan, $200! T W O H U N D R E D.

Holy cow.

Anyone know where I can get a headrest, cheap?

They found my NX.
I am buying it back.

I will be making a post in a few weeks with details of how I am going to part what is left of it out, will post pictures before I take ANY offers or deal with ANY of the parting out.
