my opinion would be the gen 6 hotshot but then send it to protech and have it coated with the new coating they have.

gen 6 4-1 headers are the best and has been dyno proven to put down the most whp of all headers tested ever.its 600$ and shipping with an extremely long wait time, and from what ive read terrible and almost none exsistant customer service. all hot shot headers are known to crack within a year or so. aebs 4-1 headers puts out more power than the hot shot gen 5 but are extremely hard to find and hang low and some times scrap and get dented. chriscar is trying to put together a group buy for the aebs 4-1 headers with a 3 inch collector wich would oviously make a bit more power. this will only happen if we get 40 orders of about 400-450 each paid up front. i wish it would happen but its highly unlikely it will. we have about 20 or so intrested guys, if you are intrested also find the thread and let them know. other than that your options are down to other generation hot shot headers you find for sale or headers that are found on ebay. ss auto chrome 4-2-1 headers wich is a gen 5 knock and seems to be the best ebay header, its primeries have been said to be a tad bit bigger than the real gen 5s and the secondary is about the same. also its said that the quality is very impressive, they can be found on ebay for about 150 dollars plus 30 bucks for shipping. not a bad bang for the buck and have been dyno proven to put out just as much as a pair of gen 5s. weapon r and obx 4-2-1 headers are similiar to gen 5s so ive read and can be had for cheap on ebay also. topspeed makes a 4-2-1 header, wich they researched and developed them selves. it provides nice gains but not what a gen 5 knock off will produce. stillen makes a header wich at this point is really outdated and outperformed by new headers. apexi makes a header 4-2-1 wich is produced in japan and agian is outperformed by new headers. hope all that info helps. ive been researching headers like a beast for the last few days, so all the info is still fresh in my head.

IIRC, the Gen 6 you have to bend a Steel AC line if you wish to use your AC. Ive heard this is kind of a PITA. Personally, I like the fuji. It has proven gains, wont crack, and is of superior quality.

I went with the stock ve manifold which has decently long runners and the hotshot ve downpipe thats 2.5" that mates right up to the stock manifold and has an o2 sensor relocation kit. I have yet to install it, but its a beautiful piece and it only cost 190 shipped! I expect good things from this, i currently have a pacesetter on my ve.
