I'm having a problem with my wastegate not opening, and it's spiking boost. I'm waiting for my new own to get here. Problem is, when I'm running, I have to half throttle the car while under boost to keep it at around 8psi, because the wastegate will spike boost to about 17psi if I don't. I'm running a rising rate regulator with the stock injectors and a bigger fuel pump. I'm having some problems running lean. When I'm half throttling the car and keeping it at 8psi, the injectors are only pulsing for half throttle....Right? The FMU is pumping more fuel through them, but only at about 40% capacity. This wouldn't be enough to support 8 psi of boost. Right? Could this be the problem that's causing me to run lean at partial throttle? I would need to be at WOT with the injectors pulsing to their capacity? Just a thought here.. Thanks for the input...

a few questions:
what wastegate do you have? and what are you replacing it with?
""I'm running a rising rate regulator with the stock injectors and a bigger fuel pump. I'm having some problems running lean. ""
How do you know you're runing lean?
i know it gets old around here, but I really think if you can't wideband the car, or don't have a bunch of experience tuning, you should seriously look into getting a JWT ecu. I know its sooo tiring to hear that, and some people don't think its worth the money, and some people want to be able to "tune" their cars and all that stuff... but the ecu has programming to deal with situations like being under boost at part-throttle, and i don't think there's really much to be saved by the time you buy all the band-aid hardware to run the car. I'm sure someone's going to chime in and say "well he has a 2001, and JWT doesn't have a computer for it" I don't really buy that one either. I think if someone is willing to turbocharge a car, they shouldn't be scared of doing a little re-wiring. Unlucky, Im not trying to target you or anything; I actually think you've got a pretty good setup that has worked well for you, and I applaud you. Its just my opinion that the wolf ECU saves a lot of trouble. I don't know the answer to your fuel flow question, but I'd suggest hooking it up to a wideband O2 sensor on a dyno with a good tuner and make sure your car is safe all over the map. I think that for those who choose to run their own engine management, dyno time is definitely worth the money.
