: Painting the Honeycomb Grill 98SERwTricks 01-21-2002, 09:47 PM Everyone with the Sentra Honeycomb grill: Can I get some advice about painting & installing it? Have someone paint it, or try to do it myself. I reuse the Nissan emblem right? ProjectSE-R 01-22-2002, 02:16 AM The honeycomb part actually separates from the frame with some circular push nuts on the back. The factory paints the frame the color of the car and the honeycomb a grey color. I would do it myself since its not a HUGE surface area to cover like a hood or fender. I already did one and it looked perfect. You can get the touch-up paint in a can from Pep-boys or whatever and use clearcoat. You do use your Nissan badge with it, 2 sided tape works, but if the pins match up, use those. Any other tips, just reply here and I will try to answer for ya! :D se-rious200 01-22-2002, 10:02 PM You can do what i did.Take the honeycomb part out and put some quality grille mesh.I personnally like the way it looks but its just a suggestion for you.SE-R's rock and keep builden them spdracerUT 01-22-2002, 10:54 PM Hey, what type of mesh are you using(where do you get it? etc.) and how do you attach it? se-rious200 01-22-2002, 11:17 PM I got it off Ebay.Go on Ebay and type in sentra and look threw there thats where i found it.I mounted it on there with some epoxy.holds good.I cut the original plastic honey comb out .don't go to fast cause you'll damage the frame of the grille.then just mount the new grille in there.sprry no pics,i don't have a scanner or any thing like that.i'll see if i can get it on here for you to see how it looks to you. I am going to have to either mask off the grill portion, or just paint the whole damn thing black...
