I am swapping an SR18DE to an SR20DE. I just discovered that the SR18 has a catylitic converter, and the SR20 does not...

How do I tackle this problem? Can I simply bolt the SR18 manifold onto the SR20 and leave all the catylizer gear in place?

Thanks.

I would just bolt up the SR20 manifold, and be done with it. Haven't done much research on the SR18, but I would assume the exhaust ports would line up.

yea, aparantly the exaust ports match up, but i would imagine that the cat on the sr18 is a bit restricting for the sr20

The SR18:

The SR20:

Now im not sure if the sr18 has a catylitic converter, the FSM says that if it has the exhaust gas sensor then it does, but maybe it just has the EGR. If anyone could give me some advice on how to get this working that would be great!

Just swap over the SR20 manifold and call it quits. I wouldn't even sweat that catalytic converter on the SR18. Emissions suck anyways.

Thanks, Zexel, thats what I wanted to hear. We have no emission laws here anyway (and the biggest hole in the ozone layer, thanks to the rest of the world.).

Can I just put the SR18 manifold and plumbing on the sr20? They all fit.. Thats what I will do, then all the sensors are still connected.

I am using the sr18 manifold on the sr20, someone tell me to stop if i am making a mistake:)
