SERacer 01-24-2002, 03:19 AM I am thinking of starting a Project S13 w/ a red top SR20DET, probably in the near future. I need to know which year(s) would be the easiest to swap a SR20 into. Also, does it matter if it is an automatic or 5-speed? The SOHC's RPM Guage won't work with the Sr's wiring (ecu). You would have to swap out to the DOHC's guages anyways. Oregon is ok, it kinda sucks, the only thing to do here is work on cars, and the only real car to work on is my friends dads RX7, but that is handful. I think my dad and I are going to be driving down there for the convention, but we'll have to see. I say go with the 91+ just for the looks, I like the front end on the 91+ much better than the 89-90. The 89-90 tach will not work with the sr. You will either have to swap to the 91 up, jdm cluster, or tach adapter from msd. yes ps can be capped but why? junkyard will have what you need but yet another small inconvenience. Older car will have (usually) much more maintenance involved to get it in a good running condition. Sometimes it's worth it to just get a 91 up.
