alright i have a clutch issue and i figured id come to the pros. ive been reading up on the clutch replacement and in the se-r.net site their se-rious b14 buildup says dont try to pull the trans yourself cause its such a hassle. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and i have replaced both axles at one time. im pushing like 180hp NA and i wanted to know about the right clutch for me cause i like to drive kinda hard.....kinda to really hard. any help would be great!...act?...clutchnet?...centerforce?....SPEC?

i have an exedy stage one not sure what they are rated for but they grab really nice a little harder then stock. but yeah i did the install myself and it was a piece-o-cake so if you get stuck i can help you out. just and fyi take both axles out when you do it, i mean completly off the car before you remove the tranny. it makes it ten times easyier ;)

My roomate has the JWT PP and 2001 SE disc combo that was so popular a couple of years ago. It's amazing, holds all his t-25 power @ 10psi, is lighter in feel that the stock one, and engages super-smooth, which is really nice on transmissions. I had an ACT, and it gave me nothing but problems, ymmv.

I've done sr20 trans jobs at least a dozen times, it's not too hard, there's great instructions on the 'net. Get a helper or two, and go for it.

how long did it take you and did you need any special tools minus the axle retaining bolt socket? Because i looked and it seems like a 17mm socket for the motor to trans bolts and im golden...takin out the axles seems like more of a hassle...please let me know and thank you

i believe the closest thing to a special tool is that you need like a 12 point 12mm socket or a 10mm can't remember but it is very straight forward no tricks

I am getting the Exedy stage 1 soon for my swap. My friends 200sx se-r hooks up nice and he chirps third all day. I don't know the life expectancy on these though. Also you may want to use the 1.6 cable as adjustment is kinda a pain.
