: Pillar POD
PSSSHHHGOESMYSR20 01-24-2002, 03:46 PM What Pillar Pod fits the classic perfectly or almost perfect? Also does anyone know the name of that company that made a pillar pod for the Classic that was a hole piece not the bolt on kind. The one that replaces the original piece? Let me know I need a new one :).

Probedude 01-26-2002, 01:36 AM Anyone have pictures? The link has none.
Stirpicult 01-26-2002, 01:47 PM just for reference, i read somewhere that the 300zx pods fit with a little heat.
Peanuthead 01-26-2002, 02:57 PM I read the samething. You have to apply some heat to the edges to get it to grip right and tight, but looks great from what I have seen.

I have seen them on a couple of my firends cars. It acually replaces the stock pillar trim looks oem if you ask me
Probedude 01-27-2002, 06:56 PM Can you get some digital pictures of your friend's install?
I need to add a NOS and oil gauge and would put it in the pillar if it looks decent.

I will have to see but in description it is one piece construction, comes in grey and has two pods located in the lower part of the pillar. Basically you remove your old pillar trim and install this new one. iT replaces the whole trim if this is the one i am thinking of:D
Zak91SER 01-28-2002, 03:51 PM Here's the picture of that gauge pod installed in my SE-R. it's a sweet piece.

Peanuthead 01-28-2002, 04:42 PM Is that the gauge pod from www.gaugepods.com? If it is I can see what my next upgrade I am going to be buying! I saw that your car was black, were your A-pillar trim pieces black or gray stock? I ask because mine are grey (they came out of a charcoal grey Se-r of my friends) and I was thinking of making them black or stock.
Zak91SER 01-28-2002, 07:42 PM My SE-R is black but the pods are grey. They match the color of the stock a-pillar piece, that's why.
Probedude 01-28-2002, 08:24 PM Zak,
Sorry to be a pill, but could you take a photo a bit further back?
I want to see how far they intrude into your field of view when sitting looking straight out the windshield.
Do you find that they give you a nasty blind spot when driving?
TurboJesus 01-30-2002, 04:24 AM are the gauges 2/16?????

Serban, Fast91ser, has done it with the 300zx and it turned out excellent.
nismo91 01-30-2002, 02:06 PM Nice job Zak. I have the same pod but yet to install it. It is a nice pillar pod compared to the other ones out there. I have a 91 Sentra SE-R with a DET motor, I'm still putting it together.
One question ZAK. When you installed the gauges did you have to shave the hole some for it to fit? I will have to do that on mine because the "boost" gauge that I have it's a bit bigger than the hole. I ordered the 60MM hole because I had the gauge already. The boost gauge is by APEXi
Probedude - On my sentra it is black exterior with a grey interior. The dash is black but the pillar is grey to match the roof interior clothing. Also, the other pillar is grey so you will need a grey pillar to match the passenger side.
Probedude 01-31-2002, 12:53 AM Nismo91,
You got yours from www.gaugepods.com?

I can't take a picture at this point, but I can tell you that they don't cause a blind spot. They're not nearly as intrusive as that picture sort of makes them look.

SR20 Development installed them, I wasn't actually there when they did it. No shaving was required from what I understand, though. They are designed to hold the 2 1/16 gauges.
And yeah, all the B13 Sentras have grey A-pillars, so that pod will match perfectly.
TurboJesus 01-31-2002, 04:19 AM 2 1/16 right???
Serban 01-31-2002, 02:11 PM here's a few pics of my gauges, 2 1/16", Like Bigmoneygrip said, I used the 300zx pod, and used a heat gun to mold it around the pillar.

nismo91 01-31-2002, 08:40 PM Probedude - Yes I bought the pillar pod from gaugepods.com
Zak you live near SR20development? Dude your lucky. I would love to have those guys work on my car but I live too far, I'm at Chicago. I did buy the front mount intercooler from them and I think I will be buying the downpipe from them as well.
