I am debating on whether or not to remove the rear 1/4 glass on my B13 sentra prior to paint. Can you re-use the seal/trim? If It needs to replaced ...is the dealership the only place to get the trim and seal kit?
Has anyone removed and replaced the glass? how much of a pain is it?
I already have the bumpers, door handles, headlights, tailights, etc... and I am in the process of prepping for paint
thanks

Thanks for the info ,
Is it sealed with that same goop that is on the tailights? or is it strictly rubber on metal. I will be removing it this weekend, I just want to get a heads up for what to expect. The facotry service manual doesnt go into detail.

Be Forewarned, the black trim pieces around those windows can NOT be purchased separatly. If something goes wrong and you break one, plan on purchasing the entire quarter class.

That is what the window guy told me when I had the windshield replaced. The black trim around the outside of my quarter windows has lost its sheen - it looks like it just wore off and now it is rough like sandpaper. Anyone with a similar fate? I wonder what would happen if I tried to compound/buff it out?

mine suffers from the same phenomenon. It looks like the onset of dry-rot

Same here, I just ignore it.

I just finished removing the windows... all it took was loosening the small bolts from the inside and a carfuly pushing the window out. The sealer goop was still in tact, but I plan on replacing the butyl tape since they sell it at napa.
