There is a thread about this I think in the turbo forum, choaderboy2 (Mike Kojima) was asking as his Project Phoenix car is getting up there in HP and is a street car. I would suggest an ACT Extreme PP with a 6 puck disc to start out. IF that doesn't work, you will have to look at some type of hybrid custom twin or triple disc clutch setup.

well, since none of us run your kind of clutch here, not sure. i would assume some sort of 6 puck or similiar with a heavy pressure plate. doesnt the GTiR use the same clutch as the maxima/RWD SR20s?

Does Tilton make clutch setups for our cars?

maybe for a GTiR, but for ours it would be cu$$$tom.

Maybe an OS Giken or Ogura? They must make some for FWD SR's.

i used a clutch masters stage 5 on my 10sec. b13..great holding power..this is a sprung hub set up with a 4 puck disk...497 whp on turbo, before the turbo setup i sprayed a 200 shot....no slipping clutch and held up great also weekend street drove around town in it....

dumb newbie  you'll be asking about 1 bar next :biggthump

I believe pete, and i know i definately am ( as its sat here waiting :biggthump ) will be using the os giken twin plate, should be more than man enough, has the highest torque rating of any gtir clutch iirc.

are you concerned about the os gikens gearbox breaking abilities rishi ? :(

i'd say its down to the way its used, i'm planning on being abit gentler on the launch and only put down full power and the gas when its moving, you can only launch so hard before the car will break traction or even worse transmission casings :( thats how i'm trying to look at it, if the quaiffe breaks, there will be a ppg straight cut dog box going on there, kinda wish i'd done that first tbh ;)

i'm seeing alan this weekend, i'll ask him what he's using in the evo and what its rated to, cant remember what it is other than its a twin plate.

you could speak to dave at awd about rps clutches i belive he sells them and uses an rps paddle himself, or try dan at srb.....the carbon jobbie should do the trick nicely :biggthump http://www.wotm.com/rpscarcar.html

rishi....just been chatting to al on msn..

he's using a quarter master twin plate, rated at over 600lbfts torque, its a universal clutch that they make up with a flywheel to suit specific applications, he's going to ask the guy in n.z if they do one for the gtir for you...

There is something with using a 240sx flywheel and custom clutch I have been hearing about.

Quartermaster in the USA. Twin Plate V Drive 7.25in clutch and Flywheel assembly. Call them. You will have to design you own stroke limmited release bearing and clutch fork assembly (simple). Make sure you ask for the Dual Cerrametalic and not the sintered. They may not sell to you, so maybe you should go straight to Hoeer Racing Products (http://www.hrpworld.com)

Cheers for the help guys... Much appreciated... I looked into some high rated singles but felt safer with a twin... Looked at the Giken and Ogura twin plate setups...

I've gone for an OS Giken Twin... With a sprung centre so help with the drivability and also take some of the pressure off the gearbox...

Kieron - cheers for finding out about Alan's clutch setup... I think the other casing failures have been down to the solid disc types clutches combined with the NISMO solid mounts...

700bhp on a FWD you want? damn...clutch wont be problems...tranny's will.

anyways if its RWD a few weeks ago my dad and I installed a fidanza flywheel to the sr20 with a jwt z33 clutch kit (350z) it holds 600whp + on 350z's so there shouldn't be much problem. and we have a custom fitted z32 tranny too.
