YOu can go with the Bosch alternative for like $60-$75 from Autozone.
I would pay the price though for a Nissan Part.

You would have to compare the nissan one with the bosch one side by side, but I just recently replaced the O2 sensor with a nissan one, and it had bosch written on it - they are probably the same part....

paid the same at garden grove nissan $110, if i remember right, it used to be between 40 and $50 before Nissan marked up their prices 100% on some of their parts

Self heated O2 sensors are usually more $$$.

Bosch is a quality replacement however I hear they don't last as long as other brands. (which is why some manuf don't OEM the BOSCH part anymore).

FWIW, although the bosch may not last as long, I think it is still upwards of 30K miles.

I just replaced the O2 sensor in my 91 and I purchased it from Murray's auto. It was (bosch) $62 and had a nissan emblem on it. I was quoted the same price from autozone but they had to custom order it. They are the same part. IIRC

blackb13,

You sure it wasn't the bosch logo? They're not too different.

I just took a pic of the new sensor on my car. It sure looks like a nissan logo to me...but you never know.

that is really, really, really dirt cheap. I don't know how they do that. that is just barely above cost.

I've been through 3 o2 sensors and after the 1st one, bought one from autozone because it had the harness plug on it( no splicing wires) also noticed it was a bosch brand. The oem one has a nissan stamp on it but also has a bosch stamp on it near by. Any way nissan one was 120 or more bucks before I new about courtesy and autozone one was 66 bucks same sh#^! you decide. No problems so far with autozone bosch. Even with NOS for a year 9 10lb. bottles so far.

just ordered a bosch O2 sensor from thepartsbin.com. $48.55 each, and free shipping on any order over $50. prior to making the purchase, i had a brief conversation with a mechanic at cherry hill nissan in nj and he even admitted that "bosch makes a good product." it's hard for me to justify paying more than double for an oem part that some people say has the bosch label on it. it's a tough call so i guess its your decision to make. i mean, i bought new ignition wires and a new clutch cable from the dealer for a peace of mind.

As far as I know there are no aftermarket o2 sensors available for our cars. They are all the oem Bosch unit repackaged. The last one I got was a Standard brand and inside the box was a Nissan package still sealed with the o2 inside it. The previous one was in a Bosch package but was the identical part.

The aftermarket companies will re-package oem parts for small volume items in order to fill contracts. A friend used to work for Echlin in their warehouse and he tells me this was common. They would only manufacture the high volume parts and repackage the others.

Bosch does make a good product and they make most of the Nissan o2 sensors.

I can get them through my work. They are the Bosch OE type with the plug. I will sell them for $57 a piece if I can get ten buyers. If I can get twenty, I will drop it to 52 dollars. This price will include shipping. I need some time to get this going, because my Bosch order goes in next tuesday, and it takes 7 days to get the order. This gives you plenty of time to decide, if the price is right then let me know. I am trying to help. I can give references and am verified through paypal. Thanks!! Jason

Jomama,
How long did it take you to receive the $48.55 BOSCH part with the OEM connector from thepartsbin.com?

I'll need to get a catalytic gasket so I'll be just over $50 for the free shipping.

probedude,
i ordered the O2 sensor on friday, and the package came via UPS yesterday (monday). please do note that thepartsbin.com is located in hamilton, nj, an hour away from me. but any way you look at it, they were very prompt in getting the product out their door.
the guy i spoke to at thepartsbin.com, Herb, was very helpful and cordial - he knew the answers to all my questions.
hope this helps!
