Not if you use the insulating thermal paint spray can ;)

it will def. make your header rust out faster.the wrap holds in the heat which also turns it to moisture once it cools down.don't get me wrong because i still use the stuff but it will shorten the life of what your wrapping.

if you are wrapping stainless it will never rust.stainless steel is the only metal that will never rust under any condition as long as it is a good quality steel no japan made crap

not entirely true.. depends on the grade of stainless.. 410 stainless still has a good amount of carbon in it.. make it the hardest of stainless but also the most likely to develop rust.. i believe most stainless headers are 410 stainless as it also the cheapest of stainless steel.
and japanese steel, in some applications, is much higher quality than domestic stainless.. Chinese/Taiwanese on the other hand.... :squint:
316 has the lowest amount and why it is typically called "food grade" stainless steel... also has highest corrosion resistance...
however, if you put stainless into contact with a ferrous metal it will rust eventually.

i agree, if i was coating a manifold i would get it jet coated!
Quote from WWW.ZEROYON.COM :
You can't. www.jet-hot.com they have 3-day turnaround time. I had my manifold coated about 2 years ago & it still looks great. Cost me $120. I went for the high temp aluminum finish, my brother went with the higher temp rated blue finish. You decide which you like better...Having it Jet-Hot coated is more effective then most thermal wraps as well...when used WITH thermal wraps, it would significantly cut down on radiated heat. I can touch my manifold within 10 minutes of shutting off the engine & not be burned at all.
