You can use a stock DE head gasket, just enlargen the dowel pin holes.

Just sayin, but gtir may be a better gasket

Yes you can also use the nice new Metal SR head gasket.

GTIR gasket is 40 bucks
Metal SR gasket 70 bucks

How do you think this HeadGasket will hold up to turbo application? Think its as good as a Cometic? I will probably order one for my U13 next check, do you carry ARP head studs, also have ARP Rod bolts or the beefier Nissan ones?

Metal is always better, The stock gasket if the head bolts stretch under high cylinder pressure sometimes after age I would think it could start to blow outwards from the cylinder and start to leak. This would not be a problem with a metal gasket.

I used a HKS metal gasket on my GTIR, Was like 300 bucks at the time and on the dyno at 498WHP it started to lift the head and oil would come out the sides a tad and after that on pump gas at 15PSI it ran good never leaked. So I am a believer on factory style metal gaskets.

A stock gtir headgasket is good for 400-500+whp and the headbolts are really strong as well. I never had an issue with mine up to 32psi. The main thing that will kill your headgasket and blow it at high boost is backpressure.

Either way your best bet is to get the VET metal gasket. I just got mine and it looks way better than any of the stock ones. Its well worth its $70 price.

How would backpressure hurt a head gasket?? I would think even on exhaust stroke when the valve opens even under high backpressure would still be far less then that compression & power stroke?
