Well I have been expereincing what I believe is a problem with my wastegate. At idle exhaust blows out the wastegate. From the people that responded and that I have talked to have said that this is not right. The second I give it some gas it closes; I believe all the way but when I let off it sound like the worst exhaust leak in the world. So tonight I decided to throw my buddys tial gate on there and guess what, the same damn problem. I have the diaphram and the spring on there way for the delta gate but that does not seem to be the problem. I have the vacuum lines hooked up correctly. From the side of the wastegate to the side of the compressor housing and from the bottom of the wastegate to the boost controller and blowoff valve, head, ect.. Is there anyone out there that has a clue as to whats up? My brothers car does not do this nor does my friends who I am using the tial gate from. Please help.

Andy is right. The flange could be warped and the valve is not seating correctly. When I got my Fmax manifold it pretty much had the same problem aroung the valve seat. I had figure out exactly where it wasn't seating right and take a drimel to grind off around the seat. That is one of the many reasons I decided not to run the Fmax manifold as well as the studs being all jacked up. I would take the manifold off(I KNOW) and check the flange. Press the valve against the flange to make sure its sealing properly. Jst a thought

the best way to find out if you have a warped flange is to run a file across the flange face, and do it in a coupe of different directions to make sure your getting all the high spots and hold the file as flat as you can. this will show all the high and low spots as your doing it and keep doing it until you have a uniform surface. i wouldn't use a drimel tool you more than likely will end up making it wavy

120 grit sand paper sheet 12" long or more.spray adhesive the back of it and stick it to a flat board or sheet metal. put board on table then rub the flange as if you were planing wood. will leave it nice and even flat.deburr edges and wallah done!

It is not leaking out of the flange but out of the wastegate itself. And now I have a vacuum leak from hell and can not find the bastard. Car wants to die when I hit the brakes and idles at 600rpm. Sometimes dies.

Wow, I'm almost having the same problem. I think my exhaust noise is coming from the slip joint where the wategate meets the downpipe, but have problems boosting also. I have an 8lb spring in there and the thing only wants to boost 2-3lbs. I just put a new 8lb and diaphragm in the wategate and still the same problem. Think I'm about to make a trip and see Andreas...
