Has anyone replaced their throttle cable? Mine has a "gritch" thanks to some re-routing of the cable done by the previous owner. I have a new cable but I'm unsure how to remove/install the cable at the throttle body end. It looks like there is a long bolt into the intake manifold area that holds the throttle cable guide and springs. I'm tempted to remove this bolt part way to gain access, but wasn't sure if this is the best way to go about it.
Thanks,
Steve

I did this last year. But I don't remember what you describe. I'll check under the hood later and get back to you.

Thanks, Matt. The problem as I see it is trying to disconnect the end of the cable from the throttle drum. The cable has a little "plug" at the end of it.

You don't take the throttle cable guides and spring off. Instead, undo the nuts that secure the cable to the bracket/holder/thingy. When you loosen those, you can slide the cable off to one side. It in now loose. After that, with your other hand move the throttle guide/thingy into the throttle-fully-open position. It should now be fairly obvious how remove the cable from the cable guide.
Clear as mud?

Yes, thanks! I think the throttle guide had been crimped such that I couldn't slide the cable out. That's why I thought I had to dismantle the throttle drum assembly.
The old cable is now out; I'll finish installing the new one in the morning.

I thought the most difficult part by far was attaching the new cable to the gas pedal. There's just not a lot of room to manuever down there.

Now that I know how to do it, yes, that's the real bear. I ended up having to unbolt the gas pedal in order to install the cable. Worst part is I get to do this all over again as I think I was sold the wrong part. See my next thread!
