Anyone know if that is steel or aluminum?

gonna be installing a fuel cell in there......i want to hack it out and weld steel in there......just making sure it's not aluminum.

its just cheap stamped steel.

well, its real thin, so you will have to be careful, but yes, you should not have a problem with it if you got the skills to pay the bills (or just decent welding skills :biggthump )

haha. If anything, I'll just pop rivet the plate on there and seal it nicely. Either way it'll work :)

Someone should do a writeup for installing a fuell cell. I've been thinking about putting one in mine for a while, I just couldn't stand having people stare while it looks as if I'm pumping gas into the hatch of my car.

At that point, you pull the pump handel out and yell "GAS FIGHT!!" and then light up a cigg. Zoolander...hehehe

P.S. the spare tire tub is a structual component in the vehicle.
