Damn, Ryan. That's looking good.

I'm very impressed with the paint booth. That tells me A LOT about how the paint on your car will look.

I know you do this for a living....how much for a sand-and-paint on my black '93? It *could* be worth it to drive out to Kansas...

It was kinda hot in there! We put 4 or 5 coats of color on the car, and it was shiny already, but wait, theres more! We put 3 or 4 coats of clear on the car! Wow...did it ever shine up...now I just gotta buff it and make it look all shiny and good... :-D What do you guys think?

*Runs away screaming* hehe...I'm not looking forward to painting any other cars any time soon...lol...black is esspecially hard...since every little imperfection shows up...hehe....I probably spent 150 hours on my car, doing body work and other various things...the classic although would be a lot easyer to paint....if you came down and helped me install my nitrous setup, maybe I could help you out in your car... :-D

WOW.

Bodywork. What a skill. I tried it myself for a while on my NX and I couldn't take it. (not that I had the tools to finish the job) If you can sand stuff down, fill holes properly so they will never rust, and PAINT your own car, I consider you a cut above myself. Any monkey can turn a wrench - it takes skill and patience to make a car look good.

[Garfield sentimental mode] There. I've said it. Now get outta here. [/Garfield sentimental mode off]

Humm the paint looks awesome! What kind of paint booth did you paint it in. Me and my dad have been painting cars for years in a old dusty garage but our paint jobs never turn out as good as the top $$ jobs. They look good but just lack that extra something.
What kind of paint did you use? We always use Dupont. Did you use a sealer before painting the first coat?

That *appears* to be a negative-pressure paint booth, with heat-curing abilities (judging by Ryan's thermometer shot). No dust in the paint, and it cures paint like you wouldn't believe.

IF that's what it indeed is.

Ryan, care to elaborate?

You are correct partialy Greg! There is a fan which is sucking air out the tottom while you're painting to get rid of the fumes, then there is a heater on the top of the paint booth that heats it up!! The acctually technical name of the paint booth is a downdraft paint booth...we used a thermometer that measures the temp of stuff with a lazer and the car was 150 degrese! Wow...yeh, it usually cures in like 20 minutes(the clear) we put like 4 coats on so it took like an hour and a half to cure! But, its hard as a rock now.... :D We used a paint called ICI, its a new type of paint from Europe...the paint code on my car AH3 was the same code as a Ford Cosworth in europe! And that paint orginated in 1988 in Nissan's...don't be decieved by the picutres, there is still dust in it, just a very small amount...thats what the buffer is for!!!;)

Negative pressure, downdraft...I've heard them called both. It's basically an awesome atmosphere for spraying paint!

Not a cheap booth by any stretch.

Thanks for (partially) correcting me, Ryan. The paint looks fabulous.

Ryan--

I'll be more than happy to help you with nitrous, paint or no paint. Just say the word. I'm familiar with single fogger and direct-port setups.

My SE-R merely needs to be sanded down and shot.

Really.
