: Time for me to vent now...
Serban 08-09-2005, 11:15 PM After work today I start putting some steel braided brake lines on my car. I get to the back, get ready to bleed that line, and notice a leak from under the car. Turns out my rear driver side brake line cracked....so now I gotta find a way to fix it

wait, the hardline? I say clean it up and hit it with the flux core if your feeling confidant. otherwise JB weld might work temporarilly, but I would gob it on all around the line.
EDIT: I was mostly kidding about the welder. Do you need help? I could come down and help out if you need some parts or JB weld or something, I dont sleep much ;)
Jaketips42 08-09-2005, 11:32 PM Man, I need to move to FLA and hang with all the SR20 guys. New England sucks. What the hell is a Serban?

its his badass first name.
tell me you would pick a fight with a guy named Serban, haha
Serban 08-09-2005, 11:43 PM Hey Will, thanks for the offer, I left the car at a friends house, I'll see what fittings I can find at work tomorrow, I already cut a piece of the line out to try and crimp it shut, but that didnt work out..
nismo91 08-10-2005, 12:00 AM Serban you can look at the positive side. You caught it in time and you were not at a track. This could have been a lot worst.

Serban doesnt like the track, because he always breaks stuff, imagine that
Serban 08-10-2005, 12:09 AM Well, last time I went, I didn't break anything...couldnt even break a better 60' time....lol
Corbin 08-10-2005, 02:25 AM better than blowing a rod any day.
SENTRASER 08-10-2005, 03:39 PM IIRC you have to drop the front sub-frame(the part the front control arms bolt to) down a bit to get the brake lines up there. That sucks that you got a crack...the only reason I've contemplated changing thel ines out is because of the head of the 10mm nut for the brake line was rounded off.
Serban 08-11-2005, 04:55 PM Well, my NX stops good again, and better than ever. I had Ian in Miami fix the brake line for me. Turns out those cheap braided lines ended up costing me double what I paid for them

Why was that? Just because of the circmstance or truely because of the brake lines?
1QKB13SE-R 08-11-2005, 05:19 PM Ian is da man!

Heres my take on it.
He bought the lines for X amount and then had to pay to have the hard line fixed for about the same as original X amount. so X times 2 = double x ;)
PUN Intended for those who understand :D

SENTRASER 08-12-2005, 01:36 PM So the question is still yet to be answered....how was the line fixed?
Serban 08-12-2005, 02:44 PM A new hard brake line was made from where the old one broke.

Something like that, bent to go around the frame, and joined with pieces 301-3 and 306-3
