I know what it does/how it works and everything i was just wondering exactly how you put one on before i get one. I know its like a funnel type deal and i saw the same funnel thing at Autozone for 12.99 and everything looked that same as the picture on stillen website...i picked my self up a filter *** i know a guy who can hook me up with one (the funnel and all the parts) for $55 (minus the filter). My question is whats the difference between the autozone one and the stillen one and how do they hook up? (i have the MAF Adaptor also)

Wait, does the pop funnel go inside of the filter? If so, how exactly big of an opening do i need in the filter i get?

Do you research anything before you post? I have never seen anything like a pop charger at autozone. Go to JWT website and read about the pop charger then look at the pictures on JWT's and Stillen websites and tell me if you really think the Autozone is the same as the Stillen/JWT one. Also, before you ask "which is better/what should I do?". Search the info on the forum already about Pop Chargers and see what others have said about it. You may want to read all the info over at se-r.net as well. Much of this is covered in that site as well.

Yeah i search dont worry *** i much like to avoid gettin flamed, sometimes i cant cant peice together what i read....i dunno if the fact i'm add maybe i just dont get it LOL. But i understand i just wasnt sure if that was all there was to it (the funnel goes inside the filter, gotcha, but i guess when something doesnt make sense (like the price of a pop charger) i have to ask and make sure a million dollars gets me a filter n a funnel. And yes i looked at stillen's website, they show a picture of a filter and the funnel. Autozone DOES in fact have that exact funnel (by lookin at the picture) in their store for $12.99. I guess i need a pop charger filter (with the big opening to fit the funnel) but the opening on my filter can only go to 4in and ill pass on spending $100 just for a pop filter which i think i saw according to courtesy nissans site....just going by what i see

For someone that's been here since 2003, doesn't look like you search :(

A regular maf adapter is different then the jwt velocity stack. Thats most of the pop chargers technology.

Nvm, i mean i understand everything about it, how it hooks up now and how it works deff, but someone was ***** sell me a funnel and the hardware (minus the filter) for $55, but the price of a pop charger filter would just make me spend full cost in the end. I believe the JWT pop charger filter on courtesy is like $100 and then $55 for the funnel..etc from this guy would = $155 in the end, so i guess ill just make myself a CAI instead...lol

So the funnel youre refering to is a velocity stack and NOT a regular maf adapter?

Velocity stack:

Maf adapter:

If your "funnel" is a velocity stack then go for it. If not, you can get an adapter and filter on ebay for like 15 bucks.

Yeah it doesnt look exactly like that, but it is a funnel with the edges curved in like that. And i already have a MAF adaptor and filter, my main and only concern is how big is that Velocity stack, like does it slide into the MAF adapter and then the filter (with a 3in connection) fits onto the MAF adaptor and over that velocity stack or do you need to buy a JWT/Stillen..etc specialty filter with a wider connection so the velocity stack can fit into the filter

With the pop charger, the velocity stack is also used as an adapter. All you do it bolt the velocity stack to the maf, and put the filter around it.

yeah i understand but will a regular cone filter work? Like a 3in opening where the filter connects to a MAF adaptor, would that work? *** i have a filter, but it wasnt like bought from JWT or Stillen, its just a regular filter with a 3in opening, would that work? Or do i need to buy a new one with a wider opening to fit the funnel into the filter?

3in is not big enough.

thanks thats what i need to know lol....Hrm, so how has the cheapest pop charger filters?

(oh this filter can go up to 4in wide, but i'm guessin that still isnt big enough either)

a regular cone filter with a 3inch opening will not work. jwt and stillen pop charger adapters are about 6" wide. you will need to buy the pop charger filter with a 6" opening.

and La_Noche is right on the money with the answer i was looking for LOL.....sry if it was myself u guys not understanding what i was saying, i was tryin to explain it as much as possible without being confusing

So you are saying that Autozone has a nice CNC machined velocity stack for that cheap. One that you attach a 8 inch or bigger filter too? The likely carry a maf adapter that would have a 3 inch tube that attach's to the MAF. The Stillen/JWT units use a filter with a 8 inch (or bigger, cant remember) opening and then the same size filter. If you stick a maf adapter on the maf and then just stick a filter on it then JWT/Stillen will say that in that short of a run the air may be tubrulent and cause poor maf performance at times. I don't think that it's that big of a deal but thats what they say. If you had read the se-r net stuff you would know this but clearly you didn't.

Most maf tubing is either 2.5 or 3 inch's. If you have a 2.5 inch maf adapter then you need a 2.5 inch filter, 3 inch maf adapter then you need a 3 inch filter. You have a 1.6 so 3 is more then enough.

That's what she said.

No i understand now dont worry, i'm not talkin about a regular MAF adaptor i know, i have one currently on my car with a filter on it already. I'm talkin about a pop charger funnel, you need the filter to be really wide like i heard 6in or something for the funnel to slip inside. So thats why i gotta get a new filter, to fit the funnel. Ill try and take a picture of the thing at autozone. I mean isnt just a adaptor, it's like a big 8in funnel with the curved edge that goes down to a 3in opening i believe. Only thing is i dont thing i saw any screw holes. I think what it is for is to put on the outside of the car to catch air better or something. I mean i dont think it is the same as a pop charger funnel, but what i was gettin at is the shape is the same, and it is almost for the same thing, so ucould prob find a way to make it work....but i was just saying....

Here is a website I found for the Autozone funnel.
