: Greddy Exhaust Question
SpeedvizionSER 02-04-2002, 02:51 PM Hey guys, quick question for you. I just got my Greddy cat-back for my 96 SE-R and the first thing I noticed as I opened the box was the massive size of the tip. Personally I don't like the tip and was wondering has anyone changed the tip out with a smaller one? I don't really want to attract that much attention and would changing the tip effect performance at all? Maybe it won't look as bad on the car but out the box the thing is huge! For those of you that have the system are you happy with the look and is it really loud? Thanks for the help.
Jackson Diamond 02-04-2002, 03:02 PM I "had" it on my car, you get used to the tip, after awhile it dosent look so big. But that is the best sounding exhaust i have heard on a 200sx, its not loud until top end, even then you get used to it after awhile.
Get some S4's and all you hear is the motor then you wont have to worry.:D :D
SpeedvizionSER 02-04-2002, 03:24 PM Cool Jackson Diamond, that is what I was hoping to hear. Thanks for the response.
Mike sr20de 02-04-2002, 07:22 PM I like my greddy, but I don't like the tip. i think it is too big. I have had it for a couple of years and i like the sound.
Black200sxSER 02-04-2002, 07:44 PM He is correct.you get used to it..I really dont even notice mine anymore. It blends right in...best sounding exhaust on an NA motor.:D
ShawnSE-R 02-04-2002, 11:43 PM Thought it was big at first but then it becomes a part of you, not to mention all the looks from the 15 year old girls.
IndecisionKills 02-05-2002, 12:25 AM Go with the Stromung Exhaust instead....smaller tip, better sound. I have it on my car and am very pleased with it. I did not buy the GReddy for exactly that reason, to big and not the best deal out there.
nigbot4000 02-05-2002, 02:39 AM I did not like the tip at first but now I do. The sounds is pretty loud but it is OK unless you are on a long road trip with friends and don't have the stereo cranked.
Black200sxSER 02-05-2002, 08:01 AM I am sure the Stromung is nice..but..he was asking bout the GReddy..and he already has it. :D
SpeedvizionSER 02-05-2002, 08:37 AM Go with the Stromung Exhaust instead
Indecision: I already have the GReddy and from what I've seen the Stromung was quite expensive too though wasn't it?
...not to mention all the looks from the 15 year old girls.
15 year old girls you say?:D Well that settles it! Greddy all the way! HOLLA! Just playing, thanks for all the help guys. I'll let you know how it turns out. I'll be putting it on Wed. Peace.

IndecisionKills 02-05-2002, 08:26 PM Actually the Stromung is the same if not less than the GReddy.
SERracer01 02-06-2002, 08:17 AM You'll lke that alot. I love the deep growl it made and when the s3 cams were in man I loved it even more. :)
ThomasSr20 02-06-2002, 10:40 PM I have a Greddy SP and the exhaust look good as hell on the car and it have a very nice deep sound.
You will like it when u notice no one will tail u ever again at night or else they will go blind
SpeedvizionSER 02-07-2002, 12:45 PM I installed the cat-back last night (took longer than I expected, someone decided to spot weld one of the hooks from the stock muffler to a custom rack I guess to stop rattling) and here's my report. I personally thought it was a little large at first but don't think it's too bad now (could have definitely been smaller though). It sounds real hot though. Nice and quiet when cruising and then when you open it up it's like whoa! Great mod. Overall I'm happy with it. Thanks for all the responses and opinions guys.
CNibbana 02-07-2002, 09:36 PM I've got the Greddy Exhaust (actually Jaskson Diamond's old one) and I just cut off the tip today and had a stock looking 2.5 inch exhaust tip welded on.
It's part of the whole super sleeper theme I'm going for with an SR20VE in my white 200. I'm actually hoping since the new tip isn't resonated that it will be a little quieter.
I'll be sanding it down and having it Jet Hot coated next week. Then I'll post pics and sound results.

awinn 03-14-2003, 03:59 PM Im getting greddy for sure! my friend has it and i love the sound and i think the tip looks like a good size too
animalbarrie 03-14-2003, 10:02 PM I have the SP. Yes the tip is large. I bought high temp black spraypaint the muffler. It makes it real low key and it looks VERY nice. Looks goods w/ my black K1's.
animalbarrie 03-14-2003, 10:03 PM Correcting the typo on my last post....I bought high temp black spraypaint and I painted the muffler.
