: 370's on NA motor
JuicedG20DET 02-04-2002, 07:35 PM Can anyone tell me if it is ok to run my 370's on a DET rail with my car being NA for now. I wont be putting the turbo on until next week or the week after and i want to make sure the injectors work ok. Will it run too rich? Any other problems i shiould know about? Thanks everyone.
spdracerUT 02-04-2002, 07:45 PM As long as you're running the ECU programmed for the 370s, it's okay. If you try running the stock ECU though, it'll think there are still the stock injectors in there and probably run really really really rich.
Rockwood 02-04-2002, 10:19 PM yeah, driving around on your 370s is actually recommended as it makes it less tragic if you find out your injectors dont work properly.
advance your timing to about 17 or so to keep the power levels close to what they were before the turbo program, then, when you get your turbo on there, retard back to 15.
JuicedG20DET 02-05-2002, 07:12 AM Also Ill be running the stock de ecu for a while, I will only be running 5 psi out of a t25, will this be ok? jwt ecu is way to much $$$ for right now.
SENTRASER 02-06-2002, 03:26 AM Ok dude...you seem like one of those kinds of people who need someone to tell them that its okay to fuck up their engine, well I'll tell you its okay because I don't own your engine! SO GO AND FUCK UP YOUR ENGINE! I responded to your last post, as well did quite a few knowledgeable people that I know and trust...so just do whatever you want...
Heres a link to the last post where all the questions were answered:

JuicedG20DET 02-07-2002, 07:09 AM Wow, chill out dude! The reason i came on here was to get some questions answerd, you guys all helped me out a lot. No one said i was going to go ahead and put all my shit on with out the ecu. I just wanted to know all my opptions. You just assumed, dont assume, you make an ass out of ume.:D
unlucky 02-07-2002, 10:42 AM Just wait and do it right man...I blew my motor up last week trying to monkey tune it.

Rockwood 02-07-2002, 03:59 PM i would still recommend installing the injectors prior to turbo installation, to make sure they are in proper functioning order when there isnt much demand on them. it is something that many of the more experienced guys here would recommend doing.
JuicedG20DET 02-07-2002, 04:44 PM yes, that is the plan as of late. Get the ecu, put the injectors in with the ecu and make sure everything works right, then put the snail on.;)
Rockwood 02-07-2002, 05:28 PM cool.
dont worry about some of the naysayers here, they just like to yell at people when they want to do something they think is wrong. but, hey, you know what they say about opinions and assholes...
brian 02-07-2002, 07:25 PM it is pretty safe to run the 370s if you have the ecu for it, even if it is a turbo ecu w/o a turbo on there, you will just need to advance the timing a little bit more than normal. quite a few people have done this and iirc nobody has had a problem.
aztecB13SER 02-08-2002, 12:51 AM just for another opinion, yes, you can use the 370's as long as the JWT ecu programmed for the 370's is used, turbo or no turbo. DO NOT run the turbo on the stock DE ecu. have fun....
JuicedG20DET 02-09-2002, 09:27 AM Is there any place that you guys know of the does the jwt ecu for cheap? Possibley used? Or some other company that may make the same type of ecu for less then 500. One of my friends mentioned a few different companys.

I agree that he should test the injectors out *WITH* The ECU tuned for them, but not without....thats the question he was asking on the origional post....

That's what I'm sayin...You'll probably get a bunch of black smoke without the ECU tuned for them. Get an adjustable regulator and turn the pressure down a bit...That should help a little.
