well i went over a speedbump last night and heard a big bang. i thought and was hoping it was my oilpan that made the noise. as i left the parking lot, i noticed that my car was real late to get into boost. i wasnt boosting until about 4500 rpm instead of the regular 3100. also noticed a rasping sound. dammit, an exhaust leak. just that morning i was thinking how relialbe my car has been for the past year i owned it. hopefully its nothing serious. now i have to have my car down for a couple of weeks just to make time to work on it.

where can i get gaskets for my inlet and outlet on my turbo and compressor housing? what else are you guys putting on your gaskets to make a tighter seal? anybody else ever do this, or am i the only idiot that breaks his car on a speedbump.

also, would it be safe to drive my car in the condition it is in. i know i can always stay under 3k rpm. but sometimes my foot just iches too much and needs to feel the boost.

gawd this sucks, and i was going to go to the track today to see what my car runs

How is hitting your oil pan BETTER?! Because we all love spinning that #3 Rod bearing from oil stavation via dented oil pan.

yea, hitting the oil pan is probably the worst thing u can do. the oil pickup line could be blocked and ur motor could be starved.. i would much rather have an exhaust leak!

well ive hit my oil pah before, and all ive got was scratche on it. i drove my car home and was able to look at it with some sunlight. well it looks worse than i thought. i thought it might have been exhause manifold. but now that i look at it im about 90% sure that the leak is coming from between the turbine and the compressor housing.

im glad you changed your avatar coaltition. everytime i read one of your posts, i used to imagine that face talking to me man and reading the post ot me. that last avatar used to freak me out.
