: Where does this go? U13 SR20DET Bluebird swap NEED HELP!!
Pradamuimui 09-09-2005, 12:49 PM Ok, Im down to the last nipple on the motor, and I cant figure out where it gos? First Im doing a swap on a 1997 Nissan 200SX SE-R. Im putting a U13 SR20DET Bluebird engine in the car. But anyways the nipple is probably about pinky size in terms of the thickness of it, and it is sticking directly out of the bottom intake manifold. It is facing the way that the throttle body is. Could someone possibly post some pictures if they have the same swap as I do of the vacume routing in that area so I can figure out where it gos? Thanks guys.

coalitionSE-L 09-09-2005, 01:04 PM I believe that what you are speaking of is part of the EVAP system (charcoal canister).

I followed the vacume diagram on the jgy website, and have both the big and little vacume lines already ran to the charcoal canister. I am left with this one nipple that I cant figure out wher to put it. So do I need to run a t-fitting and just run this other line to the charcoal canister too?
coalitionSE-L 09-11-2005, 12:01 AM And your IACV is also hooked up?

Whats the IACV Valve?
lilzaneboy69 09-15-2005, 11:44 PM Idle air control valve (abbreviation, IACV!!! For later referance remember that its braught up alot)!!!!
B14 Se-Rious 09-15-2005, 11:52 PM maybe its a coolant line. I thought it was a vacuum but I filled my car up with coolant and it was leaking out of there.

HkSBlueBird4u 09-16-2005, 07:55 AM .. nipple below iintake manifodl facing towards throttle body is a coolant line. careful now.
civicdragon 09-16-2005, 08:19 AM you need a picture of where that line is... it sounds like a coolant line, but it could be vacuum.. do you have one coolant line going into the throttle body and one comig out?

Yes I have one going into and coming out of the throttle body. The nipple that I cant figure out what it belongs to or where it go's is probably about 1/2" wide and about an 1" long. Its coming directly out of the bottom of the intake manifold, and its sticking straight out. I filled the radiator up and so far there is no coolant dripping out of this nipple. But I havent started the car up yet so I dunno?
civicdragon 09-16-2005, 08:36 PM is it towards the center of the IM? if it is then thats usually the nipple for the brake booster
Pradamuimui 09-16-2005, 09:01 PM Ok, I found a picture of it. Im stealing it from CoalitionSE-L's right up on his U13 motor swap. Which is perfect because its the same swap that Im doing. Ok here is the link.

Ok, now the nipple in question is the first picture on this page of the intake manifold that is in two pieces that has been cleaned. It is the the manifld that the throttle body bolts to. The nipple is the one on the top left that is sticking straight out, pointing in the direction of the cans that is sitting on that table. I hope my explanation is clear enough.
civicdragon 09-16-2005, 09:17 PM ok that is very important if you want your car to idle right... you need to hook it up into your intake piping befroe the throttle body(after the i/c cold side piping)... so you might have to make a nipple on your intake piping...

So it needs to be right before the throttle body?
civicdragon 09-16-2005, 11:12 PM well i dunno if it needs to be right in front but somewhere close.. i think that its part f the many things that regulate idle... when i had a kink in that hose my car ran crappy.. replaced the hose and it ran great

Cool, so it basically needs to be somehwere close to the throttle body attached to a nipple that would have to be welded on to the cold side of the IC piping correct?
Pradamuimui 09-16-2005, 11:35 PM Oh, and one other thing. Where does the Valve cover breather hose attach to? Is it the Cold side of the IC piping, or the turbo inlet intake? Thanks for all of your help.

TUrbo inlet, otherwise you will pressurize the motor and blow the dipstick out and spew oil all over.
