well today i decided to changed the front o2 sensor thinking that it was bad because of bad gas mileage. I removed old front o2 sensor useing the special socket you can get at autozone but while putting the new front o2 sensor back on it wont go on because it wont catch any thread. tried putting back old front o2 sensor and had the same problem it wont go back on. i looked at the threads on the o2 bung and it looked pretty rusty and lokked kinda stripped. My question is that I noticed that there is a nut surrounding the o2 sensor bung. is the front o2 bund screwed unto the exhaust manifold? if so can i replace the front o2 bung and just screw on a new one? where can i get one and how much does it cost. I really need help.

yes, at least on the turbo stuff. courtesy nissan or mossy should be able to get it for you. ask for brian at courtesy or greg at mossy.

they are probably cheap, but I would just find one at a junkyard in a stock manifold. like I said in your other post, you can remove it with a 32mm socket.

I wouldn't suggest going to a junk yard for one. I tried that and kept stripping them when trying to get them out. Also the one of the junkyards wanted a fortune for it because they thought it ruined the exhaust manifold. Just go to your local nissan dealership. they are liked 7 dollars.

I have never had a problem, I have removed probably half a dozen. they are hard, but a little PB Blast and a breaker bar and they twist right out.

thanks for the info guys. any suggestions on how to remove the heat shield to get to the bung so i can change it?
