I know next to nothing about brakes, but i seem to remember something about a proportioning valve splitting breaking force between the front and rear so maybe thats the problem.

well i see your having the same problem i was the classic brakes allways had that problem, tis the proportioning in the master cilinder runs different than most cars. that's why everybody upgrades to the nx2k brakes, not to mention that the rotors and calipers are bigger plus the master cilinder has the proportioning the way it should be and beleive me the brakes really do make a difference

Get the crappiest pads you can find (VGX, Wearever) for the rear. Get something GOOD for the front (Porterfield R4-S, KVR). What this will do is it'll provide more friction up front and less friction in the rear. This should eliminate most of your problem.

if you do your research you'll find all your things for about 470 dollars includes , cross drilled rotors. master cilinder, brake lines(steel braided),and loaded calipers

So i have to do the NX2000 so my front will lock up more?

If you want to go the NX2K brake route, screw the x-drilled rotors and master cylinder.
Get loaded Wagner calipers for a Japanese made NX2000 from Carparts.com. Get Chinese-made NX2000 rotors from www.brakeco.com. Should be no more than $150 TOTAL after you get your core charge back.
Or, you can just get really good pads up front for about half that and achieve the same affect: which is more front braking power.

you know something, i did this upgrade step by step and the first thing i did were the rotors and calipers since i would of been able to return the master cilinder and had a buyer for the lines, i felt a bit of better pedal until i started do hard stops the pedal started to feel a spungy pedal,so that's why i replaced the master and the lines wich completed the whole brake system, not to say that i really tested them just hours after doing the swap i had my car at the track and it felt awesome even after a few runs, i have replaced just the pads and sure they felt better do to the fact that they have a better material, also when you just replace the calipers , specially bigger calipers you need more fluid to properly run this calipers
