Hey gang, I am getting a FULL DET in this weekend since I spun a bearing last friday and now have a rod knock and was wanting to know if the RC Engineering throttle body that I have on my 95 lowport will work on the 96 DET? I hope so damnit! TIA!

Damn nation John you just up shit creek, paddling like a mofo with a wrench but no paddle.

Well id guess it would since the TB's havent ever really changed much. Dont guess you will be swaping intake manifolds *** since you dont have emissions to worry about. Dont think ive ever heard of many with it, but hell call JWT since you are goign to have to get a program, im sure they could tell ya real quick while you are talking. Atleast alot of the stuff will change over to the det like down pipe and all that extra stuff. you going to rebuild the det like you should?

Well it depends. Are you using a high port head for the existing DET you have or a low port head? The throttle bodies between high and low ports will not interchange. The coolant tubes enter and exit at different angles for each platform.
It seems like you're just going from lowport to another one, so it should work just fine.

Well, 2 fridays ago I was driving home and not getting on it, but had my foot on the gas as usual to pass low ass commuters. Boosting was fine until I noticed there was no boost. I tried the gas again and no boost, wtf. I immediately noticed the oil light flickering and then came on full, I pulled into an old folks home, shut her off and looked. I blew the oil feed line off. It wasnt really on there like it should have been and there was no play in the hose. I thought I caught it in time, but no, I have a rod knock from 2500-4000 RPM! SHIT!

Just make sure your oil/water line fittings are attached how they should be, talk to Jason garret Young, he has the fittings available for those.

Well, the engine is a 96, has the distributor like my 95 but still has the highport arrangement. Its weird. We are not swapping heads, unless you think we should, but that is a little more work than needed. I was also pondering running a top mount with a subtle scoop, who knows. Thank you guys for the quick responses.
