With lots of modifications, it will fit into a 240SX. I believe, althought I am not sure, that it is impossible to fit into a 300ZX because the motor is too long.

I know it will fit into a 1970-1983 Datsun Z & ZX, the 93-95 RX7, 86-92 Toyota Supra and I do believe the 1990-1996 300ZX. These are all the chassis' I've seen the RB26DETT installed in while reading either Turbo or Option/Option 2 magazines. Extensive fabrication and modifications were done, but well worth it.

yeah i figured it would fint into a rxy/supra type car. like you said rob with a lot of modifications/fabrications that it would work in a 240 and 510. but i figured because the vg30dett was shoehorned into the 300zx that it would never work in a 1990-96 but a older 300zx maybe. i know that the rb motors are crazy expensive also.

The RB motors are heavy too with the iron blocks. Could throw off your weight distribution.

I have an Option 2 magazine where a guy installed the whole RB26DETT drivetrain into a 240Z. Yeah, I mean the WHOLE damn AWD, five speed, and RB26DETT engine. It rides on Goodyear slicks taht are 25" tall so the car looks jacked up front and rear by 2". I couldn't imagine how much fun it would be to drive that car.
A guy named Stony (stationed in Japan) from the ZCAR.com forum installed a RB26DETT and combined it with a RB25DETT RWD transmission. He running low 11's high 10's on street tires.
Damn!

I heard it was something like 15,000 bucks to do a swap into a 240SX
RB26DETT is pretty awesome though
