Well I picked up my New headgasket (Tomei Metal) and decided to upgrade the Turbo and bought this T28. It's in really great shape. So later this week I will be putting my T25 up for sale for 150.00 Plus Shipping. Here is a pic of the new Turbo, no pic of the Headgasket, it's just a headgasket...

Looks like you got an S14/S15 turbo, ballbearing stuff so make sure and put that restrictor in before you happen to blow those seals. Remember the restrictor should be 0.035". Take a pic of the back housing and we'll know for sure which turbo it came off. How much did you get it for?

Thanks for the reply brother, It's right from an S14 SR with 60,000 KLMs on it..I got it real cheap from a shop here I give a lot of business to. Only payed 20,000 yen..It's in great shape, no shaft play, spins like it's cool and the shop told me it is good to go...these guys arent your average garage, when they sell stuff they put their name on the line so I am sure their inspection is good to go...I have another pic but need to upload it..

I'm pretty sure only the s15 T28 was the ball bearing GT28R, not the S14 T28.

There is absolutely no difference between the S14 and S15 turbos, I have both of them at my house and have disassembled them and compenent-wise they have the same things, the only difference between them is that the back housing aka exhaust housing on the S15 has a separator wall between the wastegate exit and the exhaust blade exit to the exhaust so that the J-pipe outlet can have two separate pipes if you wanted to merge back into one. I have pics somewhere on here that I took to try and show the difference.

I was almost positive that the ONLY ball bearing t28 put on a stock SR was the S15 GT28R.

actually, come to think of it, I am positive. They hadn't even developed the GT28R when the S14 was in production. The S14 T28 is a journal bearing unit. Sure, the comp/turbine wheels may be the same, but it's a journal bearing turbo.

If you do some searching on the board and other forums you will see that they are the same turbo

That's just one place.

there are two versions of the s15 turbo 14411-91f00 which comes with a divder in the exhaust housing and 14411-69f00 which does not have a divider. the 14411-69f00 was used on some jpn s14's both units are ball bearing.

I was positive the s15 came with a gt28r too and it was ballbearing. My friend has a 240 and owns that s15 turbo and he knows his stuff and said its ballbearing.

S14 and S15 turbo.. a lot of misundestand of this

S14 JDM spec all ball bearing
S14 NON JDM.. is not ball bearing ( like Aus market )

S15 JDM all ball bearing
S15 non JDM// NOT ALL is ball bearing depend version

a lot of confusion on this since we based on english website
if you based on japanese website you can get more detailed info

I found a good list of turbos and there oem part numbers for nissans. this is how I figured it out. you can also look at the chra number and see it is very close to the gt series of turbo's. btw I run the 1411-69f00 on my b13. I managed to get it new because no one could identify the turbo. it took me weeks to find the correct info on it. I need to get my list of nissan turbo p/n's added to the faq list it may be useful to others.
