So I decided to take a friend of mine for a ride. He's one of the owners of Wasach Rally Sport, anyway, we got onto this deserted backroad and I launched. My car screams to redline, 7700 rpm and loosing traction, I go into second and then third. then I wanted to back off because that was fast enough to show my friend the enormous power of the DET, but when I tried to back off, the gas pedal was stuck to the floor and the engine started bouncing off the rev limiter! I didn't know what to do, it bounced off the limiter 6 or 7 times before I killed the engine and used the ebrake to stop the car!!! My first thought was that the throttle cable had snapped and that I had probably floated some valves. We jumped out of my car to see that the cruise control cable had wrapped around the throttle linkage locking it on full throttle!!. This should never happen right? I immediately tried to start the car and it started right up, whew!!! Come to find out that the cruise control actuator that allows the cable to move freely with the throttle cable broke and that is why every time I floored it it would stick. My thoughts after hitting the rev limiter 6 or 7 times is thus, 1. SR20DET's are strong as hell. 2. God Bless JWT for keeping a rev limiter that obviously works as it should. 3. Damn the Nissan cruise control actuator and 4. Holy crap!!!!

Reminds me of my 5th gear popping out while in Cruise Control and my needle boucing off the rev limiter about 5 times!!!!
I was just relaxing cruising about 80mph and then vroom bap vroom bap vroom bap WTF!!!!
I got so damn SCARED!!!! LOL!!!!!

Damn that must have been scary as hell. I remember when my throttle cable came loose and I thought I snapped my cable.

i did something similiar when i did someting to my car (cant remember what)

i moved the cable out of the way by sticking it under the Intake manifold, like i always do, and i forgot to put it back. started the car up and VROOOM!!!! shut it off, and looked at it for like 5 minutes until i firgured it out! oops.

Is that sig picture a joke or what? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

LOL!!! I can see myself doing that one!!!

Once I was powershifting into 3rd and all of sudden the engine just went free, no power to the wheels. No clutch pedal either. Like gone, nowhere to be found. While the car coasted to a stop, i contemplated dumb things like i shifted so hard that i broke the tranny and pushed it out of the car????(really dumb thoughts like this only come onto play during times of trouble) then it went BANG and stalled. Clutch pedal was there again. It seems the clutch pedal somehow got stuck to the floor, therefore disengaging the tranny

check your floormats, i did that one too, except it released at the rev limiter! bang! roasted the tires in 2nd!

the clutch pedal will get caught up under the floowmats, especially when it is a stock clutch (read: really light)
