Okay, I am searching for an answer to something that has me stumped.

I had an ACT Extreme PP and was breaking OEM Nissan Clutch cables. So I just switched over to an ACT HD PP and it seems much, much better.

Problem is this: With the Extreme PP the clutch cable started making a binding/squeeky noise everytime I pushed the clutch in. It got worse until they broke. Everytime I put a new cable in the sound would go away for about a week and then start to return. I thought that this problem would be resolved with the HD PP. It's not! I had the new HD PP installed last week with a new cable and now it is starting to make the same binding/squeeky noise when I push the clutch in. Does anyone have this problem and what do I do??

Two things are you using a nissan oem clutch cable or aftermarket. If not using nissan oem get one i have found most aftermarkets are horrible. I just went through this for about 9 months and about 3 clutch cables. First of all the aftermarket cables are built a little off in length also they are not lubricated like oem cable is. Also when adjusting the cable be sure to use a wrench to secure cable and keep it from turning cause what happens is the cable turns inside the guide tube and binds up against the tube, and then breaks. hope that helps you:D

I have always used OEM Nissan cables. I also have made sure everytime to install it correctly using a wrench to keep the cable from twisting inside the housing. Nissan even installed one of the cables for me and it di the same thing.

Thanks for the suggestions though. Anyone else want to try helping me out?

Is that a dual Diaphram clutch disk also is it a Sprung or unsprung hub?

Typically Dual diaphram clutches are very hard and have a tendancy to break clutch cables. Also what is the pound of the PP? I had a 3200 pound PP from Clutch specialties and man that fucker was hard to move.

Well the new HD PP is only about 45% stiffer than stock and that's how it feels. It is not hard to drive at all. My wife even likes it. I'm pretty sure ACT PP's are single diaphram and the disc is sprung. It's a 2000-2001 OEM Nissan Disc.
