Just want to ask you guys how hard would a steering wheel swap is for a B14. I'm looking into probably a Momo wheel. Do I need an adapter (hub?) in order for the aftermarket wheel to fit? Which steering wheel (if you've already done the swap) would be the easiest? Also, is it hard to retain cruise control using an aftermarket wheel? I really wouldn't mind a stock one but I would assume it would be hard to find one that isn't already blown. Thanks.
Reason: My airbags are already deployed and I'm getting tired of looking at that glued up steering wheel.

um, I think I saw Andreas Miko selling airbags for the B14... do a search on the For Sale forum or ask him

SERacer:
basically he used an early model SE-R momo adapter with a momo steering wheel, and he said it bolts right up no biggie. there is a thread about this that i was on about 2 months ago, it still might be accessible.
you will need to disconnect the airbag computer, get a special tool to access the airbag so you can access the steering wheel bolts, and maybe some other minor issues. this is going to be my summer project :)
as far as cruise control, i was thinking about building a bracket somewhere beside the steering wheel to hold it. it would be semi-hidden, but our cruise control is a no-brainer, so it'd be easy to figure out. i just want to replace my steering wheel with a *slightly* smaller diameter wheel, so that i get quicker turn-in, and better emergency manuever turning ability (i.e. big ass rock in road as i'm coming around a corner!)

Thanks. So basically an early model Momo SE-R (B13) adapter with a Momo steering wheel. Thanks. Know of any cheap respectable places that sells 'em?

Ok let me break it down for u. I a have a Momo (Race) steering wheel in my 96 pacific sun blue Se-r. You gonna need to buy a nissan hub from Momo, i think the hub is aroung $60 and the steering wheel is $200 around there.
Step1: Their is one bolt on each side of the stock steering wheel, i think u need a special tool to take that bolt out or u could just get a damn plier to twist that out if u really have no choice. Remember that! those are the bolt to take the airbag out. Do not touch other bolt or u will regret it.
Step: After taken out the airbag there is one bolt in the middle of the steering wheel that u have to take out, and the steeing wheel will come right off. You are gonna have to get rid of the cruise control.
Step3: Put the after market HuB on and tide back the middle bolt, and pop the steering wheel on. You gonna have to play with the steering wheel cause the first two time the steering wheel is not gonna be strieght as how u want it.
If u want to take your airbag light go away, just take the light bolt out from the gauge.
The smaller the steering wheel is the faster the reaction, and you could make a U-turn with one hand only with the momo steering

thanks for the write-up :).

i want to go smaller, but not *that* small ;). maybe take an 1.5 inches of the diameter of the wheel. what size of wheel are you running thomassr20? 350mm, 320mm, etc.?

Ah i have no idea what is the diameter the wheel.
But i think the wheel is like 10 inch, is a Momo(Race)steering.
The only problem with this steering wheel is covering the speed and RPM gauge, sometime i have to look down and see what RPM i'm in and how fast i'm going.
I get alot of companment w/ this steering wheel like.
*I love your steering wheel man, how much u pay for it*
I heard this so many time from people.
This steering wheel look good as hell in a B14.
Hope u get it soon!! PEACE

Thanks Thomas for the write-up. I was thinking of getting the Jet Momo wheel. It will probably look good w/ my black 200.
I'll print out the instructions before installing it. As for those special screws, I already took out my passenger side airbag, which also had a star-shaped like screw. What I did was I broke out the circular inner piece and then used a hex key to unscrew it. I believe I also saw a set of tools to take them out at a local auto parts store somewhere. Do I need to put these screws back in? If I do, I might as well grab the set I saw just in case I might strip the bolt or something.
Also, any "easy and cheap" way to keep Cruise?? I would really want to keep it if possible.

You could run the cruis control in another place. But u have to know what u are doing.;)
I think it shouldn't be that hard to run the cruis control in another place
