I just installed my Hot Shot Headers. Let me tell you, it took me a good 6-7 hours of work. Our header are filled with emission parts. Pleae note, it you are going to do this yourself, make sure you have a lift.
1. Not all the holes matched up, so we had to file one of the holes bigger to allow for proper fitment.
2. The EGR did not align with the new header, so I had to disgard it.
3. Make sure you order new gaskests, cause they don't come with the kit.
4. Use WD-40 on all bolts, or your going to strip one of them, and some of the washers will not fit properly on the header, because of the bigger diameter which place the weldings closer to the bolts.
5. It was a pain in the A$$.
Was it worth it, well beside the fact I called my SE-R every name in the book, I must reply with an astounding YES!!!!! I have the PR CAI and Pacestter cat back as well. With the addition of the header, the car drives with much more force. It wants to keep going in each gear. I live in Germany, I am in the military, and on the autobann the car really shines. It hits 125 with brute force, if I had the JWT ECU I know I could hit 140 MPH. The car feels so much stronger in each gear. I payed 400 for the Hot Shot header, it was well worth it.
NOTE: I have to change the cat, so I ordered the CAT-CO CTO-6806. IT DOES NOT HAVE Flanges!!!! So, I decided to take it to the muffler shop, I have decided to have the front flange of the the pacesetter cut off, welded to the front of the cat and have the back of the cat welded to the front of the cut exhaust. I will post next week on the results, waiting for the cat bracket.
