: Zeitronix working, now what?!?!
Dr.Fowler 10-20-2005, 08:39 AM OK guys and girls, I need some help. I got my Zietronix wideband working, and it's funky. I got a good spot today to make a solid 1st and 2nd gear pull. The only problem is that my a/f is all over the place. I'm working with an AFC on a stock DE ECU (I know, I need something else, I'm working on it. This is what I have to work with now...).
Anyway, here is a screen shot of what that looks like. I don't feel like it's getting rich enough, any input? Here's a pic of it, if any of you want to look at the actual zti file, I can send that to you. I'm a little concerned that I'm leaning out at a few points. The rev peaks are at 7000 rpms, and as you can see, right around 5400 rpms I have a pretty bad lean spot.... any input greatly appreciated!

chimmike 10-20-2005, 09:04 AM don't do 1st/2nd gear pulls, do a 3rd gear pull. Thats the best way to get the full range of rpm in there without having to shift instantly.
then make adjustments, and make the pull again. It has to be done numerous times to be tuned right.
markbuts3 10-20-2005, 09:23 AM The only problem with a 3rd gear run is you're gonna be going 100mph.....

since when?
markbuts3 10-20-2005, 11:45 AM since when?
Alright then I would in my P10, so you'd be within the speed limits on the local roads at redline in 3rd would you ??
cortrim1 10-20-2005, 12:21 PM since when?
my car hits over 100mph in thrid. thats with me shifting before 7500rpm.
Dr.Fowler 10-20-2005, 01:12 PM ok, but I don't think that I articulated my question well. What I want to know is exactly what AFR should I be trying to achieve across my RPM range? Do I want to get below 12, or 13, or what? Should I be worried about those couple of lean spikes that happened in 1st and 2nd?
I think I know of a place I can get a 3rd gear pull, let's just hope the cops don't know of it too!!!

sorry.
I would try to get the a/f around 12:1
wnwright 10-20-2005, 06:07 PM Yeah you are running way lean at that point you show.
You know you can export zeitronix to excel right?
I do that then sort based on rpm and throttle position makes it real easy to get average a/f ratios and tune scientifically rather than guessing.

Holly crap batman were running lean. Turn the boost down or something lol. Try and get your A/F like mid to high 11's to keep it safe.
Red200Se-R 10-20-2005, 09:00 PM High 11s low 12s is what your aiming for. especially on a boosted application.
Dr.Fowler 10-20-2005, 10:43 PM ok, well, that's only on 10psi, so i'll adjust my afc... anyone have any idea how much 1 percent of fuel on the afc will alter my AFR's?

Pretty sure you might have tuned already but were those pulls done at WOT? cause your TPS reads 72.. Just curious.
Red200Se-R 12-05-2005, 12:31 AM Looks like someone needs to adjust that TPS sensor..
Dr.Fowler 12-05-2005, 12:42 AM OK, well, I think that my TPS may be off, *** it doesn't really change much. What should be the readings at WOT/closed throttle? I'm getting lower AFR's, but I want it to be running right.
Red200Se-R 12-05-2005, 12:47 AM WOT throttle should be around mid to high 12s due to the fact that your boostin and 0 thottle under Decell it will run lean. but that is ok due to the fact that there is no strain on the motor.. its just coasting. partial throttle should be around 14 with no boost. just crusing. Correct me if im wrong.
Dr.Fowler 12-05-2005, 09:55 PM OK, so I did a couple more runs, and the highest the TPS goes is to 72%, but my AFC reads 100% at WOT. Which one is off and why? Any ideas? I'm gradually working out these issues, but it's a little scary trying to find a good place to make a full length 3rd gear run!!
wnwright 12-05-2005, 10:03 PM Did you ever setup throttle range in zeitronix?? That could be why.
Dr.Fowler 12-05-2005, 10:07 PM no, i didn't know i needed to... i'll look thru the software and try to find it. do you know offhand where it is?
SE R Madness 12-05-2005, 10:25 PM I didn't have to play with any settings when I hooked up my Wideband, But with mine, it reads 100% the drops to 99% which isn't to bad I guess but I want it to read 100% across the board.
When I tune my car wensday (it's raining over here) I will save my Runs and post them.
