I was wondering if a dual air intake system would work on a Sr20de engine... some thing similiar to what Peter Farell intakes for Rx7's work like. Is there limitations to the MAF sensor that prevents substantial gains from an air intake... or is it just overkill, why use two filters if one can do the same work?:confused:

Usually, the only time you need a dual intake system is if you have two intake points. ex. two turbos.

I was thinking more along the lines of a "Y" connector pipe with two filters on each end...both leading to one intake pipe, like if you were to do a dual exhaust set up off of one cat. I mean you have plenty of room after removing the battery from the front..have one filter up top and the other down below? what do you think?

well, my question is: why would you want to do this? the point of a CAI is to get cooler air into the intake. by putting a filter in the engine bay, you'll be sucking in warm air. also, the amount of air that you can pull in is governed by the diameter if the throttle body. if the TB is only 2.5" in diameter and you slap on a 4" tube, you only allow 2.5" worth of air.
