In BC, our Provincial Sales Tax just went up to 7.5%, bringing our total sales tax to 14.5%. We're also getting nailed with an additional 2 cents per litre tax on gas, college tuition is going up by as much as 100%, a new $8 tax on a carton of cigarettes, plus another host of lovely ways to suck money out of us with small, yet noticable tax increases. Rich people got an income tax break though

How much tax are you guys paying for things in your part of the country? Just curious in case I decide to move out of this money sucking excuse for a province.

Oh, and on top of that, our government let almost EVERY major event move out of the area. The Molson Indy is moving away supposedly because of some bullshit reasons, the Grizzlies basketball team moved away, partly because of the insane taxes that the government charged on everything with the team (they gave the Canucks a tax break, but flat out denied the Grizz), the Symphony of Fire (once a year international fireworks competition) is on the brink of extinction...etc etc etc.

This sucks!!!

in québec you paid 7% of provincial tax on something and after we are taxing again with 7.5% of federal tax,so something thats cost 100$ will cost 115 after taxes. It always been like that in Québec.

That suck I heard that this week that you guy's taxes went up. I'm from Quebec but moved to Calgary a year ago and the tax situation over here rocks.
