: Whose got my drill and tap?
Back from nowhere, Ben Davis enters the scene...
My mind was wandering in the shower this morning and I thought "You know, I haven't had my often-lent-to-SR20-forum-members drill and tap for the turbo oil return line. I'm not sure if Greg Perry has it or if it's floating out there, but I would like it back. Anybody got it?
This car is looking pretty nice:

Too bad I'm $2600+ backwards on my Elantra loan... must suffer for 2 years until I can do something... arrrrggggghhhhhhh......
chirpin4th 10-28-2005, 11:59 PM I got a oil return drill/tap if needed... the drill bit has been cut a little on the drill end to fit between the a/c and the block if you need it.?
Big John 10-29-2005, 12:32 AM Ben is the founder and previous owner of this forum. He used to have a bit and tap that he would loan out to members for the cost of shipping.
I personally used this tap on the b12 in 2000, IIRC.
Common folks lets get the bit and tap back to Ben.
EDIT: Nice to have you stop in, Ben!

I agree, and Ben, when it comes back and after I buy an engine, could I borrow it?
sakerocket1 10-29-2005, 03:24 PM Ben how is it going? Long time no see. We need to get you another NX hehe you know it has always been your favorite. Mine has been a lawn ornament at my moms house for a good year now it wont move. I think it is time for another motor once again. Last I saw your tap was at Chris Storers house spring 04. When you so kindly drove it to us and not so kindly left 10 min later. :p
Hey Nick - what's up?
Oh yea! I did run it down there that day for you guys! For some reason I thought Greg took it with him for his future project but I could be crazy.
Anybody got any ideas how I could kill off $9,200 worth of car loan I don't want when the car is only worth $6,000 Private Party max? I think I'm stuck with it for 48 more months.... unless I just sell it and pay off the negative equity in 2ish years... if I'm going to do that in might as well keep the car then... sigh...
NEEDaSE-R 10-29-2005, 03:42 PM or push it off a cliff
sakerocket1 10-29-2005, 03:54 PM there are no cliffs in Indiana just corn fields. demo derby maybe? that sounds like it would be fun. Really the only thing I can think of is sell it for the loan amount. there is an ass for every seat. someone will buy it. maybe not right away but it may sell for that amount eventually. As far as the tap goes I think Greg did hold on to it. I may be wrong though.

Which car?
akapaul 10-29-2005, 04:38 PM Ben, plan on drilling and tapping soon? ;)
Wicked R 10-29-2005, 06:11 PM Steve-
I assume Ben is talking about his Elantra...
Ben-
I would suggest biting the negative equity of you can't sell it privately for the loan amount... But thats just me...
Cheers-
Erich
SERprise In WV 10-29-2005, 07:08 PM Benjamin--
I told you that you'd get the itch again. Scratching hard, aren't we?
I do have your drill bit and tap, sitting securely on my workshop bench in the basement. Just let me know if you'd like me to shoot it back your way, and you can consider it done. :)
As for the Elantra... if you can eat the $2k negative equity and then step into the turbo'd '98 SE I've seen you eyeing in the Classifieds, then why not? Life is short. If it will make you happy, go for it.
Check your PMs as well. ;)
El Gabito 10-29-2005, 11:01 PM Hmm... I'd say someone needs to make this car "go away" for you Ben. ;) I'm sure you would be able to sell the car before the loan is fully matured. Give it another year and you may be pretty close to even on value. OR, if you got a loan for the SE (it is still fairly "new"), you could just roll over the negative equity. You'd have just as much negative equity as you did to start, just a better car. :D How's everything going with the kiddies? Your garage must be lonely these days :biggthump
TOOQIKK 07-31-2006, 07:55 PM hey ben when you find your tap and drill bit may i please borrow it? thanks
El Gabito 08-12-2006, 07:42 PM olllld thread. Ben moved to somewhere in IL, I haven't talked to him recently (I'm not even sure that he's there yet). It was some small town, he may not even have internet or anything yet.
Greg said right above that he has it. Send him a PM to borrow it.
I have a new job in Danville, IL, but am in transition, living at my parents in Lafayette while trying to sell my Kokomo home so I can buy one in Danville. You wouldn't be interested in buying my place, would you Kyle? :)
El Gabito 08-13-2006, 01:45 AM I would, if it were in indianapolis! :D Kokomo is too far away (1.5 hr drive to work wouldn't be fun).
budsang1 08-13-2006, 10:59 AM I have reduced shank drill and tap...wouldn't mind getting a loaner circulating...it's just collecting dust right now
Hybrid_DET 08-14-2006, 02:40 AM Actually Greg, I think I have his drill and tap... wait, I sold it on ebay!! Long time no see Ben. As you can see old Red is still running.
TOOQIKK 08-14-2006, 02:38 PM any way whom ever has them please PM me i am in need of them so i can start the boosting process...thanks....
