Alright guys, the problem is, my '93 NX has no idle right when started, especially when cold. i have to do the whole "feather the gas & brake at the same time" thing when i come to lights or stops if it's cold. after 10 minutes of driving, the car idles right around 750-850 RPM's. it's just a big deal *** i have to drive in heavy traffic sometimes in the morning & it's no good to be stalling out in traffic. also, the Tach doesn't work right until it's fully warm. it just jumps around all over the place. it also does this when i put the key in the "on" position without starting the car. winter is gonna be horrible if i don't get this fixed. FYI i have a fully running 91 NX at my disposal for parts. is it true that when you swap in a JDM SR20, you have to then use a USDM IACV & all that stuff ? if so, that could be the issue. i apologize for the repost, but when i ask other people for suggestions (out of forum) they all say say retarded things, haha. thaks again.

I didn't think this was that ridiculous of a post....A repeat i'm sure, but i'm just looking for a little help here on this problem. A problem which seems very common yet seldomly fixed. Once again, ANY help is greatly appreciated.

Agree with NX2KJL.

You robably have to go through the motions and check everything. The tach problem is probably not related to it.

Still, since this is COLD idle only, the main suspects are the AAC-IACV combo and the IAA (the one below the intake manifold. In all probability the later one is not functioning.

Thanks guys. As for the sticky post, i've almost memorized by this point. A lot of things in that post i've tried already. Almost all things except using the USDM sensors & AAC-IACV & IAA or cleaning that equipment. Which actually isn't even in the Sticky for some reason. I didn't know that you had to switch sensors at all. After driving it for 10 min @ highway speeds, it idles around 650-850 and still a tiny bit jumpy in the tach, but it won't stall. Once again, thanks for the suggestions guys. Figures, that by my 3rd SR powered car i have the idle issue. Crap. If anyone gets any brilliant notions I'de be more than happy to entertain them. Thanks again.

id just go through all the control valves on your intake manifold. have some carb cleaner and just clean them all out.

i wouldn't use carb spray on the iac valves they'll be damaged, trust me.
