Are there any techs out there who know how get rid of the govern/rev limiter. I have a 97 se-r. I also heard that you can get a 96 g20 ecu and plug it into your 97 se-r, not getting any performace gains, but it gets rid of the govern/rev limiter. Does anybody know if this is true.

94-96 G20 ecu will work. Make sure you get a m/t and not automatic or it will throw a cel.

thanks, is there any print/label/ or something that identifies it as a m/t or a/t?

You are just going to have to look at the Jim Wolf Tech. ECU indentification list. The number will be clear as day on the ECU. Here you go>>> http://jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/ECU-ID.PDF
Everything that I have said in the thread could have been found by searching.
Your lucky I'm nice and that a search nazi hasn't ripped you yet.
Watch em!! :squint:

my guess would be regulations, fedral vs california tree huggers vs m and c which represent stanards outside of the US
