Does anybody know if wheels size 14 x 6.5 (40mm offset) will work ok on the 98 200SX SE-R.

If you're laughing at this question then you don't understand... smaller circumference to lower gear ratio for autocrossing...

Thanks for response from anyone who knows...

hey Robert... lookin' to up the ante in STS eh? It's already a pretty tight class. Gonna be a fun year..

What size tire do you plan on running? I just bought some 15x6.5 Rota wheels (12.5lbs) for my NX, I'm planning on running 205/50/15 Azenis as soon as they make some more. Those tires are on permanent low-stock or backorder.

See ya on the 3rd,

Thanks for feedback. Actually I passed up on Konig Divas eBay auction this weekend because the seller was confused and never could give me the straight scoop on the exact size and offset. I'm sorry I missed them.

i really want 14x7 rims ;) , but hard to find (used).

As for STS, I am really looking to get rims for R-tires!! So if I ever shell out the dough for some rims, I'm probably changing autocross classes, Paul.

I need to get a cool pic of my car on my autosignature here soon. Maybe tonight.:D

For reference, how much do the stock 15" alloy wheels on the '98 200SX SE-R weigh? Anybody know?

Hey Robert,

Welcome to the board! Anyway, IIRC, the stock 200SX SE-R wheels weigh in about 17lbs (mentioned somewhere on SE-R.net).

As for the 14" wheels, if you're willing to stick with 6" wide wheels, the NX2000 wheels would work adequately. The only two 14x7" wheels I know of that would work for our cars is the Borbet Type-T and the Panasport wheels.

Andrew,
thanks for the info. Hey, how do you get autosignature picture to work? I'm having trouble. I have the vB/html code in there how I thought was correct, but the picture is coming up X. I know that usually means broken link, but I think the pic is in the right location.
Is there a size limit on the picture? I tried to make it small enough. This is my code:

thanks for help.

yes, 14x7 rims are hard to come by.

oops, code is

if it doesn't show, turn off html code in options and it will show code instead of pictures. Any help is appreciated

Robert,

Try turning off HTML and use VB code. I already have HTML turned off by default, and I still can't see the code. I'm using VB code on my signature.

I think the problem is that Geocities doesn't allow remote access to pictures in one's web page account. This is to prevent people from using their account as just a storage area.

This signature is temporary, I don't want to be pulling off of Head On Photos's web site, these are definitely copyrighted photos.

I think I can store an image on my earthlink account and access it without problem.

Sorry to fill up this thread with image tests. At least it's my thread ;-)

See you SCCA SFR guys on Sunday... probably.

I'm not switching for now. Only if I plunk down money for wheels and R-tires, perhaps I would race in DSP or something. I haven't seriously looked into it because I don't even have the wheels.

I'll be there tomorrow.
